Anyone gone to rub the smudge from their TV and found out it's part of the graphics on the game smile

I've now progressed onto the Domination Championship, so a few early thoughts:

- Handling feels quite arcade like, went back to FM5 just before starting to finish off a few achievements and there seems a real difference.
- Graphics are generally nice (non-4k) but they still seem to be using the same trackside assets as Forza 2. in 2017 can we not have realistic trees instead of 2 sprites in a cross shape?
- Lots of tracks, including the return of one of my old favourites Maple Valley
- The game really doesn't seem to want to to play around with upgrades or tuning and is very strict with its homologation rules. which is a real shame as it's always been one of the best aspects of Forza
- Credit progression feels very slow. To get more credits you need mod cards, but you need to spend credits to get them? And removing the bonus for turning off assists is daft
- Challenges seem completely broken, as I had to retry and restart several times to get progress to register
- No creator storefront, or at least not that I could find
- Normally I like customising characters, but find I couldn't care less about the driver suits. When you never see or hear from your character, it's hard to get a bond with them.
- Completely the opposite. They made a nice leap with the handling model for 7, i noticed it from the first few corners of playing the demo! forzas up to now always had the 'forza slide' where a car would get just slightly out of shape, yet slide for days and days, no matter what you do with the power and steering, one of my biggest hates.
- I agree about the trackside stuff, seems a bit lazy. even the cars dont seem that detailed.
- Tracks are a big let down too, again lazy, or just can't get the licences to render them in the game, can't see why it would be the latter though. compare 7's tracklist to project cars/project cars 2 and you'll see a proper track list!
- Tuning and upgrades are still as rife as ever, you're probably entering races that have homologation rules, thats why. apart from that, still the same forza with the d/c/b/a/ etc etc classes.
- Credit progression is fast i think, never used mod cars and had about 2 million after only few days playing. do you go online? if you don't, get on it,finish high in endurance races and its an easy 50k a time, plus when you level up you get a choice of money, car or driver suit, every time.
- havent done the challenges.
- same with creator storefront
- agreed about the suits, completely pointless.

I've played every Forza game extensively (4 was my favourite, 5 the worst) so am not bothered about having a big car collection by this point, I just stick to my favourites and try the new ones. That said, I can see why people who want a big garage are so annoyed because collecting cars is painfully slow, with many of the interesting ones locked away. On the final championship now and despite being care full I still have barely over a million credits. The Forza Hub feels like the only way of actually making any money.

At this point the Horizon series is much more fun, but the way things are going it wouldn't surprise me if FH4 puts every single car in a random loot box.

Making money is easy.

Endurance races, and general online races.

make sure you have as many of the assists as possible turned off so you get a better payout.

I made about 2 mill after only a few days without really trying, (and thats buying cars at the same time).

even if you do a 'single race' no AI, one lap on a track on your own you still get 1500 lol, so its mega easy to get credits.

Also jack up the length of races before starting. That combined with the mods that cost 30k and you're looking at 150-200k a race. Accept 50k when you go up a driver level too. Simples.

Have to admit I never thought of trying the long races and it does mean more credits, although still not as quick as FM6 or FH3. I don't play online though as I just don't find it enjoyable. I can place top 3 against expert AI pretty consistently, but almost every race has ended with a massive turn 1 pileup or being left in the dust but a handful of superior players.

The AI does seem erratic though, sometimes the front 6 or so shoot off into the distance and just can't be caught. I recently did the Sebring 300 which really was a bizarre experience. I pitted on lap 18, having actually run out of fuel on the final turn, but the lead car didn't stop until lap 27. Seeing as that would make the race almost impossible to win I switched damage off, but the AI never deviated from its conga line for the rest of the race. After 81 laps I won by about 3 seconds, yet the back marker was less than 30 seconds behind me

Been sitting on the Fence

Long term Forza player here , had em all since the first.

Is this one worth getting over Forza 6?
Is it a big improvement over 6?

I've looked at the car list and i'm not particularly thrilled.

Annoyingly I've been pondering buying this as initial reviews on here weren't great. Read through yesterday, it's sounding more positive, went on amazon to pick up the £25 download (play anywhere) version, and it's gone back up to £50 (the xbox disc version is £29).

Meh, I'll pay the £29 and wait a day or two.

And a M6 GTLM but more impressively the Lotus Elise GT1!

Its the roadcar that they made only one of and it has the Esprit V8 turbo engine. You can swap a Chev V8 into it like they did with the race cars.

Looking forward to taking these new cars for a spin tonight after work.

As with every Forza game there's not a great deal between them, although 7 will almost certainly be busier online if that's your bag. The dynamic weather is nice, but if you love tuning and building a massive car collection (yes there may be 700+, but many are locked or are off road vehicles that are rubbish for track racing) you might be disappointed.

Currently toiling with the last race in "Early Prototype racers" with the following

Jag XJR-9
Le Mans Old Mulsanne (pissing down)
Drivatar Pro
Race Length Long

Mods for a whopping +260% credits.
Rare Burnout - Full sim damage. Reach at least 200mph
Legendary Perfectionist - Full sim damage. Rewinds off
Super Rare Perfectionist - Full sim damage. Rewinds off

Needles to say I'm struggling to win laugh I can keep up in the corners but the 962's are killing me down Mulsanne. frown

I hardly ever play multiplayer, and when I do it's ghost racers to avoid the endless ramming and crashing that takes place. But today, just for a laugh, I thought I'd try 2 races with sim damage:

Race 1 - Atlanta Club. Start in 4th of around 16, slow for the first corner and immediately get shunted off for 100% damage. Back on track, spun off at the 3rd corner to leave me in second to last place. Slowly worked my way back up the pack, including one amusing moment where the 6th place car crashed into the tyre wall trying to sideswipe me. Finished 6th of 10,

Race 2 - VIR full. Started in 3rd and held this until the second lap, whereupon I was used as an alternative for slowing down for a corner, 100% damage. Got a few places back but ended up in 7th of 11, when 21 people had started.

So, back to single player it is then.

Best tactic is to stay out of it at first corner unless you go in first ahead of the pack and pass the carnage.

If you dont pit in a clean lap to start at the front of the pack the next race then disappear into the distance.

I've given up with it now.

Single player is mind numbingly boring.

Multiplayer is a joke, tried joining A class hoppers, it put me in the lobby of a race that was 4 laps into a 12 lap race, so came out and it put me in one that had just started, came out and it put me back in the 12 lapper again!

When you do get into a race, it's full of dicks who just want to ram you.

Doubt I'll play it again now.

I hate to agree but coming to a similar decision here.
I completed Forza 2, 3 and 4 100% but this is my first go at the next gen versions.
Lovely graphics but it monotonous, even accounting for the different types of divisions (who the hell thought it would be a good idea to put the Mini X-Road thing in it let alone make us race a series with it!)
The AI seems to be all or nothing, easy to beat or perfect and unbeatable.
Online is just "see if you can catch up with the race starting in last place after getting spun all the time".
Might go back to it in a few month see if it's been tweaked.

Horizon 3 has far more content and fun.

Have to say I'm getting close to the boredom threshold as well. It may have 700 cars, but a good proportion are locked away with no information as to when and how they will be available, or off road types that are horrible to drive on the track. Then you're limited with what to do with the rest because of the homologation rules. Add in little annoyances such as pitch black tunnels, lagging car menus and constantly greying out designs and I just want to go back to Horizon.

I really don't see the problems with career. With a new Forza I usually start on the career for a few weeks before going to MP, and never go back again. I've yet to touch MP this time around because I'm enjoying it so much.

Agree with the other comments here. MP is just a crash fest as always with long waits when you first enter the hoppers and single player has started to become a chore rather than fun. I've gone back to FH3 and TDU 1 & 2 for the time being and I'm having a great time!
