Officially done with this game. Somehow they've managed to make my favourite game series into something I can't stand anymore. I'm a sad bd that does three laps on Nurburgring GP and notes down the fastest time with each of the supercars because I have no life but after doing about 20 I've realised that the rented cars aren't standard and are in fact all modified in some way so now my lap times are all useless and I can't do this again until I've bought all the cars in the game.

Forza 6 was perfect but for some reason they've decided to change all of that up for no apparent reason to this failure of a game. Career mode is boring and too restricted, the AI just smash you off of the track, you can't even rent a standard car, the VIP package was a waste of money and the menus are laggy.

Congratulations Turn 10, you've made a st game. I can't see myself buying another Forza game in the future.
I used to do this in Gran Turismo, part of the thrill was buying the cars and then seeing how they handled and what time's they would post.

I've always hated that "rent a car" was in Forza smile

I haven't bought Forza yet, I'm waiting to get it packaged with the One X.

I enjoy racing games but I play pretty casual.

I'm finding the AI super frustrating.. I win too easily so I make it harder, you just end up getting boxed in with cars going slow on the racing line and the top 3 cars get some NOS boost and end up miles away!

I have the limit aggression on as well but the cars still seem to smash into me every time I pass them and they go out of their way on corners and turn the wrong direction just to hit me?!

Also having ABS on pretty much makes the brakes not work on most cars.

I played from Forza 1-5 and I didn't feel like I had them problems in them. frown

The AI is a massive step down, something I'd expect from Gran Turismo on PS2. I think they have had to sacrifice free thinking, human like AI to allow dynamic weather and keep the same frame rate. It's the only explanation I can think of! They are utterly mindless.

Despite my gripes I'm still really enjoying the career. I had to bin simulation steering on the pad though. Without wanting to spend hours tweaking controller deadzones it's pretty unusable with RWD cars. Who knew a boggo MX5 is such a snappy widow maker? laugh Since changing back to normal steering and beefing up AI difficulty, I have a happy medium at the moment. I have to say the MP feedback on here is really disappointing given this is where Forza's replay ability lies for me. Is there a cycled production hopper at least?

This is a bit counter intuitive but I turned this setting off and the AI was a lot better behaved however so far i have only tried this for one race.

Suppose I've got nothing to lose turning it off if they are being aggressive anyway! laugh

I think they added new hoppers on top of the ones that were out on release, I raced in an online endurance race today which I don't remember being available at first.

Was good fun but with sim damage on the first corner in Suzuka was a mess and I had to pit due to damage, still finished 3rd though hehe

I've always found it much easier to stop quickly with ABS off, just be very gentle with the left trigger (removing the outer deadzone helps a lot) and feel for the vibration that's telling you when it's about to lock up

I'm conflicted... when Forza 4 came along all the talk was about the tyre physics, how the cars behaved, tuning abilities etc, now it's all about dynamic weather and lighting? Why? Who cares? Sure, a good looking game is nicer than a bad looking one but still. It's a racing game first and foremost. get rid of the jeeps, the limos and other stupid crap and evolve from Forza 4. If one would want a very nice looking game with no aspirations of being a sim then there is Forza horizon from the same developer!

My main gripe as a few other have pointed out aswell is the lack of PI oriented lobbies where I can take pretty much any car and slap some go-fast-bits on it and race, now there is a select few already tuned cars to choose from and that is...Sure I can buy one of the allowed ones and tune that myself...

Sim steering of the wheel is still ste, you need the reactions of a cobra on speed to be able to correct even the smallest of slides and the normal one is too assisted...

The lobbies are still a crashfest, easily avoided with a hardcore sim damage option, sorely needed since forza 2, still not there unless you wan't to race GT3 racers that are too fast for 95% of the online community anyways so you end up half the race in the pits doing repairs because of some first corner hero...

And offline is as boring as any other game regardless of type...

Raced some pre-prepped yank tanks in a lobby yesterday tho and that was fun.

Edit: And ffs, whats wrong with the stats, since F5 they are rubbish, I have no interest in knowing how many perfect turns I have managed on Sebring club.. I wanna know how many wins I have online, not some horizonesque BS

I'm enjoying the game, but I do think it's is less fun than previous ones (speaking from someone who only does career).

Can someone explain why there is even an option for upgrades when lots of cars that I've bought already break homologation rules when stock (and require a restrictor). In what scenario can I actually race a fully or even partially upgraded car other than in a custom lobby?

I miss being able to spend 100,00 credits on an old Volvo and race supercars. And I'm talking against AI, homologation for multiplayer makes sense.

I’ve given up on online and i’m Taking a break from career too.
I’m building and modding cars how I want them and then creating longer 30 minute races in free play. Set the weather and the pi limit to 20-30 more than my car. It seems much more fun and as i’m Not trying to get from 12th to 1st in 2 laps the AI seem better behaved.

For anyone who is having trouble with driver aggression, switch "limit aggression" slider to off, rather than on. It seems to be bugged a bit so it's doing the opposite to what it says. It will not be massive change, the AI is still on rails, but I've noticed it's a bit less crash happy.

I've not noticed the Speciality Dealer mentioned on here so make sure you snap up whatever is for sale in there. Cars that pop up in the SD aren't available to purchase elsewhere apart from maybe the auction house at inflated prices, when it eventually goes live.

Latest trio in today are the McLaren 570s, Chevy El Camino SS and Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster. Might have the leave the Zonda as I don't have 1.4m cr to fritter away. smile

Im also a sad person that likes to hot lap everything.

If you go into free play, and where you select tracks and restrictions etc, theres a tab that mentions upgrades. Gives you the option to turn them off, and hey presto, standard cars.

So can you no longer modify cars on career? That's the only thing putting me off at the moment. However, I did skip Forza 6, so 7 may still fel like a huge leap forward.

I skipped 5 and 6 due to not having an Xbox One (I'm playing 7 on PC), but I reckon 4 is still the best game in the series.

The single player campaign side of 7 is somewhat let down by the homologation system, which means you can no longer stick a massive engine in an Aygo and race it against a Ferrari 458, for example. Campaign races can only be done with cars from preset categories and those cars can't be modified outside of Forza's pre-set homologation rules for that category, whilst still remaining eligible for campaign races.

It all seems like utterly unneeded restriction. All Forza 7 needed to be was Forza 4 with an updated car list, more tracks and modernised graphics. It would have been a much better game for it, in my opinion.

Yup, the Aygo, Fox, C1, Ka etc were great fun. There's nothing quite like maintaining momentum around tiny little tracks (talking of tracks, I'm missing Iberian) when you've only got 60 odd BHP to play with.

I'm not sure how all of those A-segment city cars have been axed, but the game has gained Baja style off road racing buggies...with no off road tracks to race them on!

Honestly, I think Turn 10 have run out of ideas on how to improve the game play, so they're just changing stuff for the sake of it to avoid people saying the series has got stale.

Had a race last night when I spun on a corner and ended up 90° on the racing line. The AI just stopped to avoid hitting me and stayed there, in a line!
