A bit confused about the car tiers. I just spent a small wedge upgrading an RX7 to B category, however when you go to race in open class it drops back down to the basic spec. Whats the point in being able to mod etc if you can't use it?
The open events literally means you can choose which division you want but upgrades aren't allowed in this game. Kind of pointless having them there to be honest.Petrolhead95 said:

They are allowed but just in a different way.If you have say a race that is set at B class, just go download a B class tune. What they do is remove all parts and reinstall the best bits to tune. They will always handle better than the stock car. It may only be a few PI different but will have more tuneable parts installed.
Or you could just set up your own custom race in Freeplay and set whatever conditions you want with 24 car races.
I've now progressed onto the Domination Championship, so a few early thoughts:
- Handling feels quite arcade like, went back to FM5 just before starting to finish off a few achievements and there seems a real difference.
- Graphics are generally nice (non-4k) but they still seem to be using the same trackside assets as Forza 2. in 2017 can we not have realistic trees instead of 2 sprites in a cross shape?
- Lots of tracks, including the return of one of my old favourites Maple Valley
- The game really doesn't seem to want to to play around with upgrades or tuning and is very strict with its homologation rules. which is a real shame as it's always been one of the best aspects of Forza
- Credit progression feels very slow. To get more credits you need mod cards, but you need to spend credits to get them? And removing the bonus for turning off assists is daft
- Challenges seem completely broken, as I had to retry and restart several times to get progress to register
- No creator storefront, or at least not that I could find
- Normally I like customising characters, but find I couldn't care less about the driver suits. When you never see or hear from your character, it's hard to get a bond with them.

I am roughly at the same point too and agree with the above.
I would add the biggest issues for me are:-
Earning enough credits to get the right cars. Looks like I am in for a long slog.
DLC car packs are crap and too few cars for the money. You use to get TEN cars in a pack and why are we still getting a load of SUV's that nobody wants. The SUV's are crap to drive too.
The Rivals option. You use to be able to see your best times for ALL the classes for all tracks. Now it's really limited by what's offered. It looks really broken in that aspect.
Car liveries disappearing both on track and in the main menu. I hate grey cars !!

I've played every Forza game extensively (4 was my favourite, 5 the worst) so am not bothered about having a big car collection by this point, I just stick to my favourites and try the new ones. That said, I can see why people who want a big garage are so annoyed because collecting cars is painfully slow, with many of the interesting ones locked away. On the final championship now and despite being care full I still have barely over a million credits. The Forza Hub feels like the only way of actually making any money.
At this point the Horizon series is much more fun, but the way things are going it wouldn't surprise me if FH4 puts every single car in a random loot box.

Does anyone else have an issue with the AI not pitting on endurance races? I've just done the 'Ring event and only one car used the pits, and on Spa about 2/3rds of the field did. Just as well I dropped the difficulty a notch or I would have lost the race. And why are there so many stupid buggies and off road cars, yet not a way to use the Forza Special cars?
