Is it just me or is the formula rookie a lift-off oversteery mess for anyone else on XB1?

Oh yeah, and the 'Race Engineer' is about much use as having Stevie Wonder as your sat-nav.

I found the handling a bit lairy, Clicked on 'Load set up' And there are 2 options, 'Loose' and 'Stable' 'Loose' set up is default on all cars, Found 'Stable' much more to my liking. Also if your on PC, Jack Spade has released his FFB files.

Will give that a try because I'm struggling with the Formula Rookie as well, literally impossible to drive out of the box.

As much as I love racing games. After the issues with the xbox version of 1 I will get this when it's free or £10. not going to spend good money on something that promised so much and was so bad to start with
I traded in 4 games for it today that I never play. Got it for £8!!!

On Xbox one.

It's really good without too much messing about.

I think that might be a PC feature only, there's nothing under load setup on XB1 unfortunately. I can create setups, but there's nothing there by default.

I can see a bug with the Formula A rear wing on his video, half of the horizontal aerofoil disappears as he gets close so it looks like a DRS, but it's not because it's in the corners. - 5m02s onwards. Also a change in wheel gfx (red/black car's front right wheel) when he passes the car on the main straight 6m04s. Is that him with his personal settings or are the bugs seen by anyone else?
I noticed with online streaming that none of those bugs appear in game, it just seems replays are a bit buggy...the differnt LOD in replays pop in and out...it's annoying for replays but it doesn't show up in game.

It defaults to loose if you are using a wheel stable for pad...

If you stick with loose and stiffen the springs and anti-roll bars by a couple of clicks you get a lot more corner stability...

There seems to be a huge amount of inconsistency with the performance on Xbox One. Watched replays at Donington, and it looked pretty good. But watching replays at Knockhill was like was like watching a flip book with many pages missing, regardless of weather.

This was just on practice laps with no other cars on circuit. I've yet to try a race.

Why, for the love of God, can't you pause mid drive, tweak the force feedback settings then just jump straight back in. You have to quit the session entirely and load it back up.

So far I've only done the 1st race of the Clio cup and its generally really quite good. The force feedback still feels entirely random though with little ticks and trembles for no apparent reason then when you'd expect it to go light, ie boot full of loud pedal + full lock to induce some wild wheel spin, you feel nowt.

Anyone got a good setup for a Logitech g920 on xbone?

Can you map buttons for the FFB volume while you're driving and tweaking? You shouldn't have to leave the session, you can just go back to pitbox and select options-controls to tweak the FFB...

Got chance to have a decent play with this last night, have tweaked the force feedback and finally got to somewhere. Managed to have a decent race and began to play around with weather settings. Audi R8 in the snow is hilarious fun!

I can recommend thunderstorms to heavy fog with rain, hairs stand up on your neck...

Just found out there is a critical firmware update for the Logitech g920 wheel (I'm on xbone). Worth doing I suppose....not sure if it's going to make much difference mind.

I was considering buying this game, but after some of the comments I'm not sure. Might hold out for gt. I'd be using a controller as won't be buying a wheel.

I think I might have cracked it on my PS4 with T300RS wheel. I've changed the deadzone on the wheel, recalibrated lock to lock and 90 degrees and also reduced throttle from 50% to 20% and braking from 35% to 20% and it's night and day better.

Yesterday I was dead last +8 seconds behind 15th place at Outlon Park in a Ginetta GT5 wheras I've just done qualifying after changing the settings and I was running third at +0.7seconds until the last two laps when I pulled out a 1.7 second lead over second.

The race control message "slow down to avoid getting a grid penalty" was annoying though as I don't know what I did to pi55 it off!

I think it will be more rewarding with a wheel.

I do like it, but the handling can be a little tricksy and the rear unloads very easily.

Also, the sensation of speed isn't quite there meaning its easy to barrel into a corner too fast and lose it.

But the car and track choice is great, so i will keep on playing around getting used to the handling

The Clio cup cars were a right handful but with some wheel tweakage I've got it now and you can chuck them about like a good un.

It's MILES better than PCars1 when you get it dialed in.

But....I then set up a quick race in a lambo and the setting that are ace for the clio are now utterly undriveable. The wheel sensitivity seems to go from one turn lock to lock to two turns which is just stupid. You can't get the bloody car round a tight bend even at walking pace as there's not enough turning circle.

Needs more tweaking.

I still like it but it should just work out of the box FFS!

Oh and you can tweak the wheel setting mid race and jump straight back in. Just me not doing it right.

Anyone else found that the host of a multiplayer lobby starts at the back of the grid every race?
This is on PS4.
