Are you on pc or PS4/Xbox?

What wheel have you got?

I have PS4 and Thrustmaster t300rs and was hoping this would be as good as Assetto Corsa.

PS4, logitech g29

I wouldnt bother playing until day 1 patch installed, otherwise limited to mclaren 720 and 1 track, graphics poor etc

Seemed improved after patch but wheel still still nowhere near what it should be

I had assetto corsa for ps4 and that was like an unfished game, returned it within a few weeks and thought pc1 was more realistic but on pc1 I only use the e30 m3,atom,porsche gt3 mainly at oulton

Oulton on pc2 looks like the cars too big for the road and the straights dont seem long enough.

Nismo gtr sounds well, thought the gt3rs would be better but will have try the race cars tomorrow

So it would help if someone finds a realistic setting for g29

Its like the weight of the wheel goes heavy when slidding but it should be light etc

Will have a proper play sunday night

I think Assetto Corsa is amazing to drive, I can nderstand the wheel going light when it understeers like a real cars would, I suppose it goes heavy to simulate g force and or the wheight of the car like Assetto Corsa does?

I'm just speculating though, I'll have to see how it drives tomorrow!

Just had a quick blast

Flavour: Informative
Gain: 90
Volume: 45
Tone: 75
FX: 20

E30 bmw at oulton

Still not as good as project cars 1, and cant really see any other settings to dial it in

Graphics are not as smooth

Cars look a bit big on the track

Oulton park seems different, visually, track width, straights, etc looked perfect on pc1 and to top it off the sounds of the e30 are better on pc1

Hope you guys can find a better setup, pace wise low 1.43s with 5laps, all aids off

Is this a sort of pre-release copy your playing? Confused as its out today but only one track avaliable until patch?

It wont let you play on more than one track one car until it had installed a patch etc

Not sure what would happen if you were not online

Humm lapped twice in the only race I can play while the patch is downloading. Who knew the new McLaren understeers horribly and the brakes lock up at the nearest sniff of the brake peddle.

Not boding well for this being any good a game on first impressions.

Hopefully using the wheel and the patch things will improve.

Initial impressions on PC:

Graphics - immense, looks stunning and the weather effects are amazing

Sounds - perfect, cars sound just as they should and don't sound fake at all

Gameplay - Cannot fault, there's so much to do and take part in. Really looking forward to progressing through the gt type cars.

Controls - Not quite there, I'm using a G27 and haven't quite found the sweet spot. I seem to have decent weight to the steering but I have no feel for the front wheels losing grip or any feel of kerbs and rumble strips. I suspect it needs a tweak my side. As a side note, the braking seams to be broken. Even with abs set to high and sensitivity set the minimum, at half brake pressure I'm locking wheels.

The control feel is a real shame, the have assetto Corsa nailed in all aspects bar the feel of the game and for me that's the most important part. No doubt I can sort these controls out but I hope the braking issue gets a patch.

Use the ICM to tweak when you're in car...weirdly TCS seems to be the wrong way round, increasing it to 1 turns it off, turning it down increase TC...

Tried with my wheel and frankly this game is utter turd. Deleted and will be selling on.

If GT is also rubbish I think I’m done with racing games. I don’t know how, but TOCA and other games if it’s I’ll managed to be such more playable on a ps1 than the graphical master pieces of today.

I can happily peddle a real car round a race circuit at a good, if not lap record setting, pace. In this I can even do a lap in anything without at least one off into grass.

Yours,

Frustrated Gamer of Basingstoke

What cars have you tried, it's a pretty mixed bag tbh...

I'd recommend starting the slower stuff until you get a feel for it, I'm a big fan of the Escort RS1600, I drove the Ferrari 330/p4 and Lotus 40 from Historic GT class and they were good. I'm not a big fan of the GT3 cars, but I know the GTE cars drive very nicely...

It's a long way off being a turd. It's in a much better place than the original. game was at this stage of it's release.

Just gone to my standard Cars 1 test track and car. Ginneta GT4 and Brands Hatch National.

For some reason I am not finding this as fun as the first game, the car seems more predictable but also seems to have lots of understeer. Everything also seems to look a but well dull, attention to detail seems to be less than the previous game. Sound is just as good and some of the weather effects are pretty cool.

I am going to give it a few more goes before making a final decision but at the moment it is hovering towards the Steam refund button.

This is exactly what I did after an hour of frustration. Picked Brands Indy and the Ginetta Junior because that was the combo I used most in PC1.

Dire. Like driving on ice constantly. I couldn’t string a single competitive lap together in an hour of trying. Fails the enjoyment test for me and seems worse than PC1 was on release day.
