Games you never "clicked" with...

For me, it has to be The Witcher 3. Everyone seems to rave about this game, it's story, the graphics, gameplay etc., but I just can't get on with it. I've put over 30 hours into it and I'm not hooked. Playing it seems like a bind & it's never been something I look forward to playing. Maybe it doesn't help having never played any of the other Witcher games, but then again I've never played any Elder Scrolls games or Uncharted games (before playing 4) and I love them. Compare that to Skyrim where I played over 300 hours on the 1st play & over 100 so far on the second & I'm still enjoying it...
So, what's your "elephant in the room" game?

Far Cry was the first of a series of FPS that I utterly failed to gel with.
In hindsight it may have been me rather than Far Cry, as I felt the same irritation at getting stuck and having to repeat the same bit of gameplay ad nauseum.
But it was also the first FPS I played when the games industry decided you should only be able to save your progress every so often.

Horizon Zero Dawn for me.
Played it for a few hours and aside from the cracking graphics I just didn’t get on with it. I’ll reinstall it one day and have another go, probably.
Saying that I do have Witcher 3 on the PC but have been waiting until I have a decent enough PC to do it justice at 4K before playing it. Hope I like it when I do finally get around to playing it!

Witcher 3 here too, I've done the intro bit but it's just not grabbed me in the slightest. Never gone back to it.
I'd also like to add every single Final Fantasy game ever too. Turgid nonsense. Oh, and all Metal Gear Solids up until The Phantom Pain: That one I liked, but the rest were just unplayable. Or I was just crap at them
And a final one, The Last Of Us. Now that one I can appreciate is a brilliant story and a superb game, but honestly I just didn't want to play through it as the Clickers were irritating. I did end up watching a Let's Play just to see how it ended though, so I was mentally invested in the story at least.

The Call of Duty series. I enjoyed campaign on Medal of honour. I just couldnt get into C.O.D
Same, think i played a bit of the campaign on one of them some years ago. never got into it online at all.Think i may try again this year though, world war 2 is it based on? Saying that, never clicked with Online gaming as whole. Never play fifa online or FUT, just about getting used to it with GT Sport.
I purchased Watchdogs, i played it for an hr and i was bored stiff.
It's not that often I 'drop' something, last one was Hollow Knight after 16 hours. Perhaps I just don't like Metroidvanias, I stopped Guacamelee halfway too despite enjoying it.
Bought it last xmas sale, later heard how very non-linear it is, I never got round to trying it while I could refund. Couldn't stop playing for a while, but began thinking 'why am I doing this'. It was depressingly boring and it's not the game's atmosphere. There's no way I could have done the boss fights without a trainer either. Infuriating when you die over and over and it takes 2+ mins to get back...
Could say I didn't 'click' with PCars. I can't read the road in that game for some reason, have to use the apex lines. Had been trying to get through more before buy 2; I uninstalled on a whim in the middle of a race. Had 60 hours out of it, but the AI, just... I was just resorting to super aggressive driving in the end, I think I made the game too stressful with aids set to real and 100 AI.
Main problem I have is getting into things, my backlog, particularly RPGs is ridiculous. Unless I slip into 'learning' to play intuitively, any perceived complexity my brain just shuts off to it. It's also why I unashamedly use walkthrus in games like Divinity: OS, to help know what to do next.
I've been trying to start Age of Wonders which I own on GoG, a classic 4x-ish game. Finished the tutorial, first map of the campaign there's five parties on the screen... I feel so stupid for not being able to cope with that. I'm sure I'd be fine if I could get over the cliff of difficulty I see.

Biggest one for me is GTA5. Bought it with my PS4 back in 2015 and I only played the first 30 minutes and I never went back to it. I'm not sure why as I love open-world games, but I never wanted to go back to it. Recently bought Uncharted 4 (again, when I upgraded to a Pro) and I just traded it in with a few other titles I never got on with. I never played the earlier games and I think I made the mistake of trying to play A Thief's End right after I had put around ~100 hours into Horizon Zero Dawn. I only got as far as the tutorial level where you play as young Nathan and the climbing mechanic was so clunky after HZD's was super smooth - I just couldn't get on with it and gave up. Might go back and try again in a few months time.
