Games you never "clicked" with...
Discussion
Fallout 4 for me. Was exited to play it when it cam bundled with my new xbox one.
But I'm a very casual gamer and I think its a game you really need to put the hours in with. I got quickly annoyed with random attacks and the respawn taking me back to that exact point.
I think Assasins Creed is more my level in those respects!

The Uncharted series. It's strange as that type of game is my favourite genre, I love the tomb raider reboots and hzd, but I just can't get on with these.
I've tried the first 3 and not got further than the first hour before giving up.
Same, love the TR reboots, can't gel with the Uncharted ones.I've tried the first 3 and not got further than the first hour before giving up.

Civ 6, Just completely lost that "one more turn" vibe that all the other iterations had.
This, I vastly prefer 5 and returned to itWe'll see what the new patch brings.
Oh, let's think -
Resident Evil (PS1 original)- found it too hard
Uncharted series - boring due to the linear nature and practically telling you every move
Gran Turismo 4 - too tough without an expensive wheel setup which would have been fun but wouldn't have got past the wife.
Super Mario Galaxy - made me feel ill!

Red Dead Redemption for me, it's a cult game and people love it and when the second installment was announced everyone went mental. I completed the first one but never got it
I've only recently started playing RDR - up to riding out from the ranch to go to town for the first time, and it's not yet clicked - I appreciate there's a long way to go yet. Let it be said I've prioritised finishing Portal 2 over playing it (yes, I know I'm a long way behind...)

Biggest one for me is GTA5. Bought it with my PS4 back in 2015 and I only played the first 30 minutes and I never went back to it. I'm not sure why as I love open-world games, but I never wanted to go back to it. Recently bought Uncharted 4 (again, when I upgraded to a Pro) and I just traded it in with a few other titles I never got on with. I never played the earlier games and I think I made the mistake of trying to play A Thief's End right after I had put around ~100 hours into Horizon Zero Dawn. I only got as far as the tutorial level where you play as young Nathan and the climbing mechanic was so clunky after HZD's was super smooth - I just couldn't get on with it and gave up. Might go back and try again in a few months time.
Agree entirely on GTA5. I have played every other GTA to the death, many, many hours. I got to the 3rd mission I think and stopped. I loaded it up a few months ago just to waste 30mins wandering around - but after 5mins turned off. Not sure what the game has lost, but I could spend hours just driving around the streets and doing random stuff on Vice City/San Andreas/GTA4/GTA1. Maybe I got old?The Last Of Us, I bought the remaster earlier in the year. Done maybe 20 mins of it and just can’t get into it.
I’m not hugely into this ‘survivial’ genre though. I’d prefer to have a bit more ability to get more weapons and get around a bit more.
Took me about 100 attempts to get past the cops in the sewer section and would have preferred the option to be able to have a sniper rifle and pick them off first

I've played Civ since version 1, but I couldn't get on with Civ 4 or 5 at all and I haven't tried 6. I still play 3 now and then.
3 the corruption used to get right on my tits4 just ended up with the most ridiculous number of units in play.
5 was excellent (IMO)
6 takes a while to grow on you, but I wouldn't revert to 5 now

Mass Effect for me - it's like I was playing a different game to everyone else.
Agree with Mass Effect, didn't find the storyline that good and the shooting dynamics awful! Another one for me was Bioshock. Hugely popular but it just wasn't my style. We're talking 10 years ago so my memory is pretty hazy, but iirc it felt like i'd bought a FPS where i spent my whole time attempting to manage the one or two bullets i had. Having to do some ammo management is fine, everything from plasma ammo in the original DOOM games through to heavy ammo in Destiny has had it. But playing a whole game carefully controlling basic pistol ammo? Pass.
Thank God, I thought I was the only one who found Witcher 3 to be a turgid, boring, po-faced, over complex piece of crap.
I always like the idea of the GTA games but I could never get into them
The Batman games after Asylum, just couldn't get into them
PCars1 - just didn't get on with the physics/force feedback model
Struggling with Dishonoured 2
Total War:Warhammer - I like total war, I like Warhammer. This just doesn't work for me.

Blimey! I thought it was just me with the Witcher...
What's interesting is the mix of games that people get or don't. One thing that shows though it its the "really big" titles - Witcher, Uncharted, Last of Us, Fallout etc. I'm considering Fallout 4 and Horizon Dawn as my next couple of games. I love Skyrim & the "open world make your own story" aspect of it, so both of those games appeal - but not to everyone it would seem!
Are the expectations greater for the big name titles hence we become disappointed when they aren't as great as we expected?

Civ6 pushes further again, but worth clocking some hours in 5 before jumping to 6.
