Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
Discussion
Resurrection time. After completing the epic first chapter a few years back, when this was released I downloaded it onto the xbox but for some reason never got around to playing it.
After recently completing the woeful latest Tomb Raider (not a patch on the previous one), I noticed this was installed.
It is rare that a sequel can best or match the previous title but here it is on an equal level if not more engrossing. Utterly brilliant, if you are thinking of getting it, get it. If you are looking for many hours of enjoyment, get it. I cannot put it down.
I'm a real fan of story mode games and this is fantastic. Its even better for the fact it is not crippled for online gaming so focus is on long story with many hours of playing. Alternate stories make it replayable.
Its great that people still make single player/story mode games. I'm a huge BF fan too but the days of the epic story mode seem behind us on that platform...

Im really enjoying it, but stuck at a bit where you get rushed by a bunch of nazis and just keep dying, doing my head in.
Mission is "penthouse" for anyone else at it.
Just did this bit - will admit I just dropped it down to the lowest difficulty setting to get through after the first 5-6 deaths. Too much like hard work! Mission is "penthouse" for anyone else at it.

Just playing through this now, on Venus. Love the game, I enjoy going round stealth killing the commanders then dual wielding the shotguns and clearing up.
Got to Venus last night, starting again today. The actor scene is epic and having recently had kidney stones and gall bladder issues I could relate to the "directors" pissing pain and puking!Russian Troll Bot said:
Did they patch the difficulty after release? I never picked it up as I read it was completely unfair on anything bar the easiest difficulty, as well as being tonally that was all over the place.
I had to switch it down to pussy level after the level where the germans rush you in New YorkRussian Troll Bot said:

It's not a difficult game at all and I didn't need to have the difficulty reduced. The story is crap though, BJ becomes a castrated weakling and they tried to reflect this in the gameplay by making you less durable. The comedy and SJW elements feel totally out of place too, the game is a narrative mess. Mastodon2 said:

It seems to encourage stealth but gives you none of the tools to actually play that way, such as a way to track enemies or know when they can see you. Tone is absolutely all over the place as well, trying to be both a serious take on the horrors of war and a wacky over the top shooter (that scene with Anya at the end was so bizarre I had to watch it again on Youtube, just to ensure that I really saw what I thought I just saw). Difficulty is just flat out unfair as well, on anything but the easiest difficulty you can get shredded before you even see what hits you.
Also, I kept encountering really odd graphical glitches. Approaching certain in-game lights would make the screen go completely white for a few seconds, loading a level often put massive black boxes over the screen, and I kept seeing textures constantly being replaced by a multi-coloured pattern.

yeah not entirely sure what happened with that scene with Anya Also, I kept encountering really odd graphical glitches. Also had the issue with the screen going white and the graphical glitches as well with weird patterns appearing on the guns.
I completed it on 'Bring it on' and didnt find it that hard to complete
