It seems that clearing out my HDD has really helped reduce the crashing, but it hasn't helped me get better haha.

How’s this running-playing please guys?
Worth diving in now or better waiting for more updates and improvements?
Cheers

Best to start now and get practice in, once the game is even better, you will be too!

The game is full to the hilt with issues but that's not stopped me putting an a horrendous/unsociable amount of hours into it lol.

Its a bloody fantastic game that really gets the old ticker ticking when you get down the final circles. Playing solo is really good, but the fun that can be had in Duos and Squads raises it another level.

The game has now sold 3 million copies on Xbox which is impressive given its early access status.

Combine this number with the 30 million (as of 1st December) PC sales and it fires the game to 7th in the all time "games sold chart".

My 12 year old son is asking for this. He's a sensible lad not an idiot, he's played COD's rated 16. I haven't played it and it doesn't appeal to me, would appreciate some opinion on whether it's ok for a 12yo. I've read there's not much gore but obviously hitting someone with a crowbar is fairly violent. The only profanity is people in the chat...he'll be playing on PC which apparently is infested with Chinese Hackers using cheats...I'm not really sure why he wants it after listing all those issues lol

Opinions?

It is a game that, like most if not all shooters, isn't aimed at children. I never hear any chat as everyone is too busy quietly sneaking up on me and murdering me.

I wouldn't suggest that it is suitable for 12 year old, but neither is CoD.

My 13 year old plays it(but prefers Fortnite) Not a lot of blood and melee kills are rare. On the PC just mute the chat(Alt+T IIRC),I thinks its proximity based so apart from the free for all at spawn, very little chat with others, obviously he can chat with mates on groups/duos. I would say it's OK,certainly no worse than COD
The above mentioned Fortnite is similar but more cartoony

I feel like I've gone backwards since the update, I'm not sure how but the aiming feels worse than before and I can't seem to find an aim acceleration setting that feels as good as it did before, not that it even felt that good before the patch.

I managed 3 chicken dinners last weekend but haven't come close this weekend.

The closest I've come to a chicken dinner so far !!!!

@mastadon
I've been messing with my settings since the update and finally settled on 7 for general sensitivity, 2 for all scopes and 5 for aim acceleration, since then my Kills have rocketed, I've gone from pretty much zero kills to between 3-5 a game now.

This is just bizarre. I am stuck under a table that spawned / loaded on top of me in the first house I went in and I cannot move. Someone has even run into the room and right past me haha.

Even better that the play area is where I dropped so for now I'm just going to sit here and wait for the blue wall of death.

have had a cracking weekend of PUBG consisting of two solo wins, two duos wins and three squad wins.

One of my solos was odd in that I arrived late until the last few circles, near Poi Hills, I had 0 kills and only 6 people left but proceed to kill all 5.

Yesterday I had a friend spectating me and it became apparent how much difference there is in terms of detail rendering and what sort of advantages the non X consoles have as he told me which bushes to shoot (that he didn't have on screen and could see enemies much clearer).

Anyone up for some squad games of this? It's not quite the same when you're just with randomers, especially without communications!

I'm sure a few folk would be keen!

Picked up a headset for the xbox the other day (turtlebeach xo-four or something along those lines) & it makes a huge difference for this. Can tell instantly which direction shots are coming from, footsteps in a building etc. Really gives you an advantage over those without.

I'm still crap, though.

Yeah I use some decent headphones, really does make a big difference, they just don't have a microphone.

My gamertag is Inertialtooth45 if anyone wants to add me. Although this comes with the caveat that I am terrible!

I thought this game might be up my street so bought it.

Got home and no disc in the box, just about to go back to the shop when I saw the code spin

I spent 2 games running around a map, not doing anything, just running.

What the hell are you supposed to do?

I'm so sick and tired of spending 95% of the game being stealthy and careful, only to run in to a building in the last couple of circles and get blasted to bits by groups just sitting their camping the door way!!

i love it when there's one building left as you can almost guarantee there'll be people camping in there, shoot the door out and throw a grenade through and it's an easy extra kill or two

I 3rd person view around most doorways unless I'm pretty certain there's no one there..... and if there is, flash grenades are very handy (although there's a new bug since the update when cycling grenades) and you can shoot through doors too, not a lot of people seem to realise that.

We tend to avoid buildings though if we can and stick to high ground after the first few circles. The controls and gunplay are still pretty clunky and I still consider close range a bit of a lottery.
