Amazing isn't it? I mean, do they have tanks and planes you can drive/fly these days? If not, I really can't see the attraction of it, especially when you look at the map sizes
I haven't bought one for years but blackout looks pretty interesting. Will give the beta a go next weekend.

Ok. I'm liking the way it plays, I'm liking the way the guns feel. You have to be a bit less rambo than in previous ones, it seems. Nice to have more modern tanks back, although I did enjoy the BF1 landships, you really did need 2 or 3 people to be effective in them.
Weapon upgrades etc seem like it will be fine, though for me BF4 had it spot on in that regard.
Revives are nice, and being able to revive your squadmates as anyone, less ammo floating around etc, squad leader special actions etc all make squad play more necessary and rewarding.
Something's a bit off with the graphics though (Xbox), explosions don't seem that great, a lot of blockyness. And the zoom out overview of the map looks like it's in 480p or something. Hoping that's just a beta thing. And the immersion just doesn't seem to be there in the way it was in 3, 4 and 1. Can't put my finger on what it is, but it feels as if something's missing. Maybe just the maps they've chosen.

I have a current xbox live gold account and was playing fine 3 days ago? Nothing I can do will make it work? Tried resetting router for internet and also done the xbox 1 reset but to no avail? Help please, all sugestions welcome! I dont know if its just ea being st? I have never had as many issues as with bf1!

The gunplay is superb however the lack of content trend for the last three BF games (Including the two star wars flops) is not good at all.
Map feels too small, it's more like a large "CoD" map. Rush mode is missing.

I Don't think i'll be bothering this one which is a shame as the last BF game I really enjoyed was BF BC2

I had exactly the same problem... try a few different games online and see if those are also not allowing you to play (in a way that you'd need a Gold membership for). As it turned out, something had gone wrong with my xbox live account and although i had live Gold, and all looked ok, whatever system at the backend they use wasn't showing it as being a live account.

A few minutes on the help chat via the xbox live site itself and they did a reset on my entire account and now it's working well!

It is only a Beta map.. Suspect they will have a couple of slightly larger ones (I am starting to wonder if we will see a huge tank battle one i.e. the Bulge.....).

For me, just having medic and ammo sets points will massively improve the game, as many a time I died running around after a support trooper begging for ammo........And squad revive too, huge help.

As usual most of these things are a lot better if you play with a squad properly. If none of your friends are online squad revive is basically the same as old medic revive... ie no one does it! (Console). I think it needs to be a bit more obvious when a squad mate is down.

Had a decent few rounds today and last night I actually started killing people and coming top 3 of the scoreboard. Which was nice.

Suffered today with bad spawns and glitchy triggers though. Caused me most of my deaths tbh. Quick firing pistol in close quarters and it stops for 3 pulls...

I have to say though the new feature that does work well... building defenses. Works every time and genuinely helpful/changes gameplay.

Game has potential.

Did the Germans really have bombers where you couldn't aim downwards to gauge where you were unloading your death from above?

Seemed more buggy today than at the start of the beta, loads of spawn issues where it just wouldn't let me spawn anywhere.

Also noticed the old feature where a thrown grenade as you die just disappears up to heaven with you instead of carrying on.

Hope they look through all the improvements they made to BF4 and BF1 along the way to make sure they haven't missed anything obvious.

Yes the Stuka - it was a high level dive bomber

So when I was playing this solo I didn't like it much but then I joined some of my old BF3/4 mates (Never gelled with BF1) in a proper squad and it was vastly improved. So much so that while I was initially reticent to order it I will likely take up the Origin Premier for a few months to see what it's like.

Don't really get that tbh. I got all the DLC for 4 and 1, and there were so many maps that several I only played once or twice. And I've no worries about map size, they always do a good variety. In the 1 beta, loads of people were moaning about the map being too big and open, so I guess they can't win.
There's just something about a lack of immersion which is bugging me. Maybe it's the sound, maybe the voices, dunno. BF1 had that aspect nailed, I think.

I've enjoyed it and i like the ammo and health drops as mentioned above, i couldn't gel with the sniper class though.

I've only been able to play for a few hours but have a free evening tonight and it finishes mid-afternoon!

Cheers, that makes sense, time to adjust my flying style if I'm lumbered on that side then smile

I also need to brush up on some history before the game comes out.

Playing last night and a friend was moaning about rockets and saying it was like call of duty now with this type of thing... i was like "have you never heard of the doodlebug!!??"

The noise when one is coming in is brilliant (and terrifying) trying to lock eyes on it and wondering where it will stop and fall with a HUGE explosion

Quite enjoyed the Beta. Best moment for me was last night when I was flying around in the Blenheim doing low level bombing runs (roof height). Lucky for me there were no competent pilots or AA gunners on the other team so I was racking up the kills. When I eventually crashed I went for a walk though the village which I had been bombing. The level of destruction was quite impressive, there was basically nothing left.

That's it then, the beta has ended - minutes later I got an email from PSN telling me about the release delay and how I could get a refund, I wonder how many people will do that now they have played it?

I enjoyed things, once the niggles are ironed out (basics like not being able to walk up a gentle slope or spawn as anything other than a sniper) it promises to be a great game with something to do for everyone, even the Minecraft fans can sit at the back building things.

I'm just curious about these snowmen, I only found one but wonder if I missed unlocking a Doom-style BFG weapon easter egg by not finding more....

The doodlebug is one of the best new additions. Relatively hard to attain so only see a handful in a match. Well placed ones can release a well defended flag and potentially turn a close match. The sound is great and has you looking for where it's going to drop. Explosion is incredible even on PS4.

I have a vague memory of my granddad telling me about them and how you hoped you heard the engine go off either directly above you or further on as you knew it wasn't hitting you. Terrifying.

The stuka is also good with the Jericho trumpets. Pure evil putting those on them.

Saw this on reddit yesterday.

So no Rush at launch and no BR mode until after March.

It's utterly ridiculous, you either have a complete game to release or you don't - presumably we only pay 1/3 of the price until the rest comes out?
