Looks a bit like a late last gen early current gen game. Although I guess a lots going on. Seems like fun, although I’d prefer it wasn’t WW2 yet again. Vietnam, around 1967 would of been interesting.
You think the graphics look dated? Are you mad?I just hope that they put ammo reserves in the vehicles....people spamming for the whole round gets annoying and it's ridiculous.
People in jets going 55 - 0.....yeah well done mate, you're killing helpless people on the ground that are basically playing a different game. Great skill buddy!

This is my major gripe with the game, it's Battlefield, it's varied, if someone is killing 55 of your people with no recourse then you have a crap team, jump on an AA gun or two, annoy them enough to leave the planes alone or at least divert them away from the objective you want. But oh no, that's messing with "your" game. Think bigger, be strategic.

Just to check - the bit with the chap jumping out of the house - was that the online gameplay footage?
No, I think the game play footage only started at the point the guy picks up the machine gun, when the score tally is shown at the top. Thinking about it, BF1 started with a cutscene that then became a controllable 1st person level. thetapeworm said:

But I don't want to have to do this EVERY single game. I want to enjoy other aspects. But oh no, that's messing with "your" game. Think bigger, be strategic.
the vehicles are ALWAYS too dominant and you have to rely on other aircraft to take out the opposing ones. The team with the better pilot has a HUGE advantage. They need to lessen that gap.

Nope, the team that adapts to circumstances and overcomes them will succeed. Im not saying BF1 is a real approximation of WW1, but no-one in the real war said "oh, that's not fair - the Jerries are using too much mustard gas in this battle, tell them to stop".the vehicles are ALWAYS too dominant and you have to rely on other aircraft to take out the opposing ones. Just jump on the AA guns and take them out.
If your team has an ace pilot that is racking up the kills, do you complain?

AA guns on the ground. The AA weapon that the Engineer class can use also works rather well... Dagnir said:

The vehicles - and the size they can make the maps as a consequence - are what makes the Battlefield series truly great.the vehicles are ALWAYS too dominant and you have to rely on other aircraft to take out the opposing ones. You're missing a couple of things that I said I think...
I don't want to have to do AA the whole round, every map......but because the vehicles are so dominant, have unlimited ammo and respawn far too quickly, it's a constant struggle and you can't enjoy any other aspect of the game.
I agree the vehicles add a layer of realism, unpredictability and immersion and that's great but they are too dominant, too much of the time.
People shouldn't be going 60 - 1.....that's not balanced

That game isn't balanced because one team is not acting as a team. People shouldn't be going 60 - 1.....that's not balanced
To give you an example, I played the other night a game where pretty much everyone acted like a team. Ammo was put down, you were revived. And if an enemy tank came along, you had to get there quickly because about 1/3rd of the team would be lobbing anti tank grenades or using the AT rifle on it. Their tanks were dust in minutes - every time. And then someone would drop ammo so we could restock the grenades.

I like players like you that enable me to go 100-1 in the plane :-P and dominate the airI don't want to have to do AA the whole round, every map......but because the vehicles are so dominant, have unlimited ammo and respawn far too quickly, it's a constant struggle and you can't enjoy any other aspect of the game.

If you shoot the player down enough theyll soon get bored and give up or quit

The jet scenario is another case in point. When there was a good jet pilot in BF3 that was doing outcome-influencing things, if the team was any good the next thing you'd know you're be surrounded by engineers spamming MANPAD's (snigger) at them. It might not kill them but it'd neuter them and force them away, and the damage they'd inflict would plummet.
Likewise, I've been a gunner on some epic kill streaks in attack helicopters. Which abruptly ended when a squad or two started making life difficult.
I'm hitting BF1 pretty hard right now and I've found my team being steam rollered by infantry alone. Because the opposition were cohesive, acting as a team. Vehicles, weapons etc weren't a factor.
Team (and sometimes even squad) cohesiveness is everything in Battlefield. The vehicles are neither here nor there on whether you get mullered by the opposition, they just highlight when a team is ste.
Several gripes..... The speed that enemies can exit a tank - for instance while you're attaching explosives, the driver can get out, kill you and get in within a few seconds. It takes around 12 seconds to change drivers in a race car!
Damage to vehicles, I'm pretty sure the airships wouldn't stand a full minute of AA fire, yet one dusting from their guns wipes out a squad.
When you sneak up on someone and shoot them with them not knowing only for them to turn around and one shot you. There's no health loss /physical impairment even down to 1% . Even in bloody Fortnight if you get hit a few times you drop to the floor!
However the few times I played BF1 hardcore was ok, shots registered and a few rounds got the kill.
Still no doubt get the game, but not straight away, I'll see what the reviews are like.
