They've changed how spotting works for some reason, the process of spotting is the same but if you're spotted the mini map gets a yellow border to confirm it.

When you see a spotted enemy on the map you now don't get a red dot if they're on the same altitude as you and a red circle if they're above or below, it's a red arrow showing which way they're looking.

Unnecessary change but presume they fancy it in the next version of the game so we're forced to alpha test it.

I can't test much else, its a 3000+ ping day again ??

I did the (PC) update at lunchtime, panicked at the "Sparta upgrade" but as long as you do the usual interface update it fixes itself.
(The interface update itself is messed up with the Sparta messages, but you just have to trust its there and click the left hand side of the weird messages, and it applies the update)

Otherwise, had a perfect evening of gaming, with no issues.

I noticed the "spotted" thing. Also the post match stats - when they work are different now.

WTF have they done? Ever since the "upgrade" I can only play for about 3-5 mins and then it crashes... FFS>

Finally managed to get online after the new update caused me to be blocked from the EA servers!

Far too many tanks for the attacking Allied side on Wake Island. Hopefully they’ll resolve this in the new patch due next week.

I recently got back into this game, but the cheating issue on PC is out of hand. It’s absolutely out of control, I’ve never known a game to be so blasé about it.

Case in point earlier: in a Sherman tank, get one shotted from the air by aerial bomb. Fine. It then proceeds to happen twice more by the same person. Said person also happens to be 58-1 after about 15 minutes. Said person also belongs to [HERO], a clan known for cheating. To be one shotted the bomb basically has to fall down the commander’s hatch and into his trousers. To happen three times on the trot takes it outside likely odds.

It’s ruined the game. You can’t play when untouchable players clear the map. I don’t know what it’s like on console, but PC is woefully bad and DICE just seem to let it happen.

Well there are cheats on the PS4 too but frankly it crashes so often now it is unplayable for me. Can't generally complete a round. If I start in the middle of a round it will crash before starting the next round.....

TBF, he might not have been cheating pending on which bomb he was carrying and what perks you have on.

Was flying about yesterday with the 2x 500lb bombs and they would destroy most tanks - in the Pacific War map pack. European tanks seem to fair alot better but i think the Stuka with a certain loadout can destroy a Tiger in one hit. Its very easy to get a massive k/d ratio in planes if nobody is trying to shoot you down

But yes, there are cheats unfortunately in the game. Auto-aim, auto-shoot and people have the ability to kick you out of servers as well now. Im sure theres many more cheats available especially when if your a youtube star or an aspiring one, to show your epic skillz = money

Been back on this recently, BF is all I play pretty much. Sometimes I've found the lag and latency has been really high even though my Xbox is showing just 27ms, in the game it's 180-190 at times. Anyone else experiencing it?

Same - BF is all that me and my pal play (on PC though).
Im with Virgin Media, 100mb, and ping is also mid-20s. However, seen similar massive ping in game - though it often corresponds with the in-game chat being in "forrin". I think its match-making with folks the other side of the world.
Hasn't particularly affected my gameplay, but I have noticed planes up in the sky having some rubber-banding issues...

In happier news, im LOVING the anti-air rocket launcher - its really evened the odds, and pilots aren't so cocky about swopping down to bomb for easy kills.
Also love the new maps.

Back having a bash now they've released all the new maps. The Pacific stuff seems much more like BF should be, and it seems to have the atmosphere which was lacking in the first set of maps. Breakthrough on Iwo Jima feels like a proper struggle.

I'm back playing this too after a fair break. Loving the train station level!

One thing which is frustrating me is despite putting in a fair few hours, i never really seem to unlock any new weapons or specialisms. I prefer playing support class so only really want to build up that class. I've got 2 LMGs now with 4 specialisms but it's not unlocked any new ones for a very long time.
Same issue using tanks and planes, it's almost as if my games don't register any benefits... what can i do to check it's all working and more importantly what can i do to improve it?

Iwo Jima on death match is great. I pretty much only played Conquest which meant getting some of the challenges was harder. Death match racks them up so much quicker. Great fun running as a team and battling in the tunnels.

I play most nights whilst I use my exercise bike. The TTK (time to kill) was updated, rumour-mill suggesting that this was to make it easier for Christmas Noobs. Inadvertently it's ruined a lot of what made the game great previously.

The new SMG is hilarious but feels like cheating to use it. I had a giggle but prefer the satisfaction of one-shotting folks with the Jungle Carbine.

Update 5.2 killed the semi-automatic rifles unfortunately. Now you're only competitive if you use an SMG or the few full-auto rifles (STG44, primarily)

Turner SMLE, Gewehr, M1A1, M1 Garand... so many good rifles but nobody is using them because it requires 5+ shots to kill now and they can't be fired rapidly like before (if you have a fast trigger finger you could take advantage here).

I really hope they fix it.

Weapons only allow 4 levels of specialisation, once you reach level 4 you can reset and choose a new set, this doesn't cost any coins.

A level 4 weapon is the best its going to be, chose specialisations that suit your play style.

playing as support only will only let you unlock support weapons, gadgets and some generic handguns/melee - class ranks goes 1-20, the further towards the higher end, the more xp/ games will be needed to unlock and this may feel like a grind.

(the ke7, 1st support weapon is a good choice, Lewis gun is also good)

other guns turn up in weekly challenges. You will need to play other classes in order to complete these (recently has been a Japanese lmg and the slayer type 2a SMG).

playing as the other classes will see you unlock their class specific weapons

when a weapon reaches level 5 you can unlock a set of challenges to get *mint* cosmetics, at level 10 the challenges unlock gold cosmetics. weapons don't get higher than 10.

European theatre tanks only go to level 4 specialisations, this can be reset to suit (eg. AA tank can have infantry shredding guns or flak cannons) but there are no vehicle specific challenges. A level 4 tank in Europe is the best its going to get,

In the pacific maps vehicles can go to level 6 or 8 with lots of choice and multiple ways to build either TD type tank, infantry slayer or a mix.

hope that helps, I

Thanks, definitely helps.. i think the bit i'm struggling with is progressing the tanks... i always pick a tank if i can, yet i don't think i've got them beyond the first specialisation.

I'm using the lewis gun at the moment with a 1.5 scope and enjoying it.

How accurate are the stats tracking sites like battlefieldtracker? It's only showing that i've played 1hr45mins in tanks but i'm sure it's way more than that. I'm thinking take a few screenshots of the stats now and then in a few days time. smile

Big update just dropped (38GB) for the new jungle map/patch going live on Thurs.

You can also buy "Steve Fisher" the hotshot flying ace, with a face just made for teabagging.
