I understand the rationale of everyone being in the same car with the same conditions, but I do feel it gets a bit boring for a whole week when there's nothing to play around with or change.

For me part of the fun is trying the different cars and setups through the week and then using the weekend to smash some laps in with the preferred car. Think of a bit like mid-week F1 testing hehe

Still each to their own and it's good that people have different preferences smile
Yes, i agree it is much more fun when it is a class or manufacturer to choose from along with some experimentation on engines etc.

So Cutters has woken up this week smile

I know I have a 47.748 in me (done a dirty lap of that - wall tap) so I know I have it and a little more time in me. Feel competitive this week...although it's early so I'm sure Cutters has another half second to go!

Will get a a clip later for anyone interested. More fun than watching ghosts.
Always impressed with how quickly Cutters posts a potentially winning time. I can sometimes compete by the end of the week, but it probably takes me many more laps.

Yeah, I think that's why it's good rotating who selects, gives a fun variety.

I am enjoying eeking little tenths here and there this week though. Maybe next week someone will find a cracking combo with a weird mix of tunes and modded cars and a discipline they aren't meant for.

I'll be happy to break into the 49's! Had a go last night tested my patience struggled to get a clean lap in going at 10/10ths. Might have another go soon though.

Managed a 48:00 ish last night, did 20 laps tonight and probably got one clean one, decided tonight was not the night to try and promptly turned off.

Why does Cutters have to speed up before I set a new faster time, I feel like I'm always one second step behind.

Also, I've done it twice where I've been a tenth ahead and cocked up the last corner...grrr!

Really struggling with enjoying this week. The car just feels like it's on ice.

Anyway, Renegade FemShep is best Shep:

Can't see anyone catching Cutters', I've never seen that sort of time even with a few rewinds, no idea how he's managed that.

Von, I thought you said his bots were gone for good?

Same, only started this lastnight but it's wheelspin and sliding everywhere, I had to put the assists on to get a clean time.

I might have a go with assists to see if it helps, I used to find it much quicker without but I may have lost my touch!

Nope, I just said that you had stolen his current ones.

With the sliding, this track really needs you to get on the inside of the corners for the camber and grip. The rear end under acceleration is really sensitive to revs and throttle too. It's lovely and neutral when you get it right. I know I can hit a 47.4xx with a perfect lap, but I'm not even loading up Cutters ghost...that'll be too depressing.

EDIT: I'm really impressed with Steven's time considering ABS is on, there's a hell of a lot of time made up in getting the T1 braking just right.

Does 'inside of the corner' mean clattering through the fences? I'm great at that hehe

That's certainly one set of words describing it. It's odd because my 900 version is one of my favourite cars to drive.

It’s not the most predictable car through the corners, I can either get it turned in properly or exit the corner without hitting a barrier but not both laugh The fence rebuilding itself on the inside of corners is annoying too as the walls on the outside don’t reset after each lap.

Haha, thanks. I've seen a 47.6xx that wasn't clean, so there are a few 10ths to be made up, however not sure I'll be back on this one. As I've said before, I've had every Forza game since the first one on the original Xbox and I've always played with ABS on, so it's what I'm used to.

As much as people can make up time under braking without ABS, this will only manifest itself of they are perfect through every corner on that particular lap. Stringing the perfect lap together is very hard, it's easy to drop 5mph through a corner and lose more than the time made up by not using ABS.

As for the R8, it's not bad, but my go to car for 900 is the LFA or the Huracan P.

An interesting comparison would be to look at the amount of credit earned in rivals mode, this would give an indication of how much time people have spent on rivals alone. It's displayed on the loading screen and can be accessed in one of the game menus.

One method is on some corners to aim the wrong side of the gates, and with a little lift (to rotate) and some understeer it sets you just right, clipping a fence or two in the process. T2 is where taking a line clipping the gate with the right hand mirror is the fastest line I've found. The double right hander and long left also benefit from having two wheels off the tarmac at the apex.
