Forza Horizon 4 !
Discussion
Bought an Xbox One S yesterday just for this game. First car game I've bought since Test Drive Unlimited and wow. Just wow. As many have already mentioned, the visuals and attention-to-detail are mesmerising.
I echo other's thoughts on here that this game is at its very best when hooning through the British countryside in your favourite 'real-world' cars, with all the driver aids off.
I spent two hours trying to build my own Singer-type 911 and still not quite satisfied with it yet... started with the '86 911 Turbo, removed the rear spoiler, changed the bumpers and side-skirts to 964 style, reduced the weight to 1100kg and engine-swapped the 290bhp 3.3 Turbo motor out for a 4.0-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six tweaked to 550bhp... sounds ridiculously fabulous. I just need to find a way to paint the Fuchs alloys or fit some 5-spoke 993 Cup alloys... The ability to build your dream road cars and then spank them all over the map is what FH4 does so very very well!
I'm currently content with my modded 911, 205 T16 500bhp grp B rep, RRS SVR and interlagos blue E60 M5 and E34 M5 garage queen. I need to get a Ferrari 812, GTC4 Lusso, Eagle E-type, Sierra RS500 Cosworth in Shell livery and 1931 Bentley and I think I'll be complete then.
I've only played it for about 6 hours, still haven't completed all four seasons yet to get to the weekly-changing seasons, think I'm on the final one now... And roughly level 6 on all the race categories. Plenty of work to do.
Weirdly, I've found it easier winning the races in close-to-stock cars(?), compared to anything over 600bhp or a max-tuned NSX-R and Nissan GT-R which were handfuls on the road courses. I might just stick to hot hatch races if I can to get through them. I found once I took the '07 Impreza STI over 500bhp the races got harder to win? But then this could be to do with the "you need smooth style to win races" that's been mentioned previously?
There's more life in this game yet, as I remember the devs will continue adding in more cars up to March/April? Fingers crossed for some group C racers.
The only things I think Test Drive Unlimited had over FH4 was more choice of properties to buy and the subsequent managing of garage space with each property and... motorbikes.
I also need to find the most time-efficient way of earning big credits - any ideas? Doing the races and film stunts isn't cutting it... probably earned 1.5 million in 6 hours of playing, I must be doing something wrong.
Also came across a sub-section on buying businesses and them earning you money?? Cheers

The AI scales to the performance index of your car, so if you buy really good tyres but only a few engine mods you'll end up relatively slower than if you ran stock. There is definitely a lack of grip in winter though, some events can be a nightmare then but straightforward in the rest of the seasons.Loving winter on Fortune Island, something really relaxing about blasting around in the snow.. I've built a lovely 'Alfaholics'-style Guilia Sprint GTA - super lightweight, ~250bhp..
Wanted to use the DS3 Racing for this week's Hot Hatch challenge, then realised I missed unlocking it there are none of the auction house whenever I check and they'll probably be super expensive when they start to become available.. It's gonna be one of those unicorn cars that appeared in a challenge once and ever again.
Still loving the game though, I like that you can just hop in and out for an hour at a time throughout the week and knock out a few challenges

They already had FH3, and I quite enjoyed that, but was given FM7 as a gift last Xmas and didn't get on with it at all.
FH4 on the other hand - brilliant! Highly addicted, so much so that I bought another copy myself (we've got two xBox Ones so I can race against the kids!)
I inadvertently built an absolute weapon of a D-class car over the weekend, from the most unlikely of places. Can't get enough of the game at the mo.

Really enjoying winter too. The way the ice reflects off the road surface is stunning! And grip levels changing over time on the roads
How do you get the Ferrari 812? If you've missed the chance to buy it in the Forzathon shop do you have to wait for one to pop up in the Auction? I hope not...

Paid just over 2m for mine
I won the DS3 this morning as I couldn't sleep, so put some hours in. Dead easy to win.
Thoroughly underwhelming car on there though. Was hoping there would be a bodykit hero preset WRC setup, but alas it's just the usual splitter and spoiler combo. Totally boring, but then Forza has never really gone into the French stuff much, despite the fact they could have all sorts of fun with it.
I went back to my Frogeye

How did you win it dude, in a challenge or auction or?I'll have a go at a few of these tonight. Racing the Reliants to win a Hudson Hornet looks like a fun one, or throw the controller at the TV time

I made a 4wd rally Ford Woody for the Rods and Customs series and it's amazing. Original engine with a blower so it's not crazy powerful but it'll four wheel drift like a champ in the snow.
