I’m loving it running on my Xbox nice and smooth with no crashes.
Its running smooth on the xbox because its about a 10th of the program that it was on the PC. What you have done is paid the full price for nothing more than a demo version really. At least we had the full hit whilst it lasted.
I’m playing this 1 10th of a game and loving, it was also free

Some people are hard to please.

It’s a major update. Be patient.
I don't think getting pissed off at spending £60 on something to it then being destroyed to suit someone else is being hard to please.
What exactly?

It’s free on XBox for GamePass members! Out of interest though, what’s the 90% we’re missing from the game?

I’m really enjoying it so far! Flying over Dubai at sunset was incredible, as was flying from JFK to New York with the free USA world update. A couple of friends and I flew in formation to Chernobyl (which doesn’t seem to exist) and the top of Mount Everest!

I don’t seem to be able to purchase the Eurofighter though. It attempts the purchase and just immediately fails …

It's a crash/freeze/stutter fest on both my computers post update. A stutter may well settle down, the other two likely won't.

Attempting to keep this running is turning into a part time job.

I think our time together is coming to a close. I'll stick to any game made before 2010 ish.

Scotty it’s working on countless other PCs without a problem, just chill out. It’s improved performance on these as well, so it’s nothing to so with it being moved to xbox. Xbox is essentially PC hardware anyway, so there’s nothing in that argument. It’s crap that it’s not working for you, but the tantrum over the xbox porting is a bit much.

Edit: I am a PC player and I’ve played it since launch.

Apparently this was carried out before the PC update, but I’m not 100% on that.

Edit: It’s mentioned at 1min 55 that this isn’t the PC version with the massive performance uplift.

The boy reports “very crashy” on the series X
I think he means the software.

I found it very crashy; although that was me trying to land a 747 into JFK with no idea what I was doing.

Well for a start they have already dumbed it down once and that was before Xbox was ever mentioned, the distance view used to look so much better when it first came out. To run a game properly like this you really need top of the range processor, something like a RTX3080, big NVME SSD, big power supply, all of which will cost something approaching £2000 today. Its pretty obvious that they needed to reduce everything down if it was going to work on a £400 Xbox.

And that is exactly what they have done, can you not see the difference in the scenery, it now only draws the bit you are looking at where as before it used to render the full 360 view that was possible, this is patently obvious if you move your view quickly (which you do in VR) if you move your head to the side you can see the buildings or mountains spawning before you, there were never there until you looked for them, it looks terrible.

Thats just one thing amongst countless other problems its now got, never mind the time in actually keeping the programme going, before the update it was perfectly fine but nevertheless I had to do an update of 40gb that took hours and hours, when the update was complete it wouldn't run at all, when it was doing the update the GPU was running at full power just like in a flight, thats hours of wasted electricity, all for nothing.

I then wiped it the next day and did a clean install of 125gb, that took about 10 hours of downloading despite having a 50Mb connection, despite this massive download it still wanted to do another 20gb of updates for the world update sections after starting it. It seems that despite needing a version that was newer than all the world updates they shipped it with the old versions, thats idiotic.

I've known babies that need less maintenance than this program, that is now the third time in a year that I have had to install a 120gb program plus extras just to keep it going, thats without looking at all the other aircraft that I've downloaded that will all need patching more than likely, the Piper Arrow parking brake wont release now with the key binding, it just comes straight back on, I know the DC6 needs a patch as well.

Its like buying a brand new mercedes and then the dealer saying look we know how to make your car faster and more fuel efficient, you won't get a choice in this and we are doing it next week, trust us it will be brilliant. You then get the car back after waiting for what seems like forever and when you eventually do get it back there aren't any doors, interior, boot or bonnet on it and mercedes say well its lighter so its now faster and more fuel efficient, tough st, no recourse available.

There is also this official flight sim thread on it,(amongst many other threads on that site complaining about it)

And meanwhile MS have made the game available to an extra 20 million people. So you can see their angle.

It does feel like there needs to be 2 games here. The “I have a monster PC and am prepared to invest serious time and money into a proper flight sim” and “I want the buzz famous landmarks for a few hours” groups are rather disparate.

I also understand a strong desire for a common code base. Everything is a compromise in the end.

I like to do both tbh.

Some days it’s a more serious flight practicing some procedures and approaches and others it’s flying under bridges and trying to land in a park etc.

It will all settle down like it did previously.

The more playing it, the more great third party stuff airports cities aircraft etc we’ll all get.

I do feel for some of the more hardcore flight simmers on here, sounds like they're having a rough ride on PC.

I managed to take off in a 747 from White Waltham (after several attempts), fly towards the general area I live, then crash into a local playing field while trying to point out our house to my partner.

She was not impressed...hehe

And then a few weeks later the next update will upend everything again. This one is more screwed than any other so far for me, but seemingly innocuous world updates drove my installs batty too.

Never have I ever come across such an unreliable and demanding program. Hope I don't again. I didn't expect to have my balls busted so relentlessly.

Some of the more minor bugs I've found, in the Cessna you don't have any control over the pitch trim, either with the key binding or the mouse on the actual wheel, it just won't move. There is a constant clicking in some aircraft as if a switch is being constantly moved or something trying to deploy but won't.

I have realised what the graphics glitching is when escape is pressed, its cycling through the views very quickly like the wing views etc. and when you hit resume its pot luck which view you end up back in.

This is just like an unfinished game they put out there and ask for the publics help in ironing out all the bugs in it. How much are Microsoft worth again?

If you are interested in my views read the thread from the start smile ( well from page 11 ) It's difficult to be unhappy with the product on here because you will generally be unpopular if you say it's anything but perfect.

I've been onboard right from the very start of the Alpha so I've seen how the sims progressed. I was also really enjoying buzzing around yesterday evening until the crashes started.

It was stable for me before this update but i'm past wasting hours/ flattening my system ....

Entire install gone AWOL, at 14% currently on its replacement after many hours,AND the Community folder is bare, so I have to dig up my payware receipts, reinstall, and remember what else I had

Solved my issue which was caused by the fuel switch on my quadrant being assigned as both a button and a switch.

Now all us working and I’m happy with the improved performance
