Download the DCS guide to Spitfires, it has a really useful guide to what's what in the cockpit.

I've still not 100% mastered landing the DCS Spit god knows how much hardware i've left in a burning heap at the end / side of the runway biggrin
Same! lost a few revving the thing up and it just tipping straight over with a horribly quiet sound shortly following, I would not have been good for the war. That said the feeling you get cold starting, taxing then shooting something down is pretty cool!

Do you have an anti virus program installed? It'd be worth checking the logs in case it is picking something up in the FS folder as a false positive, which it quarantines and the MS installer sees it as a corrupted install so wipes it and tries to download it all again?

Or the MS installer is just that piss poor and unreliable! Both options hold significant merit!

Reno air racing looks awesome as does the volocopter

Managed to get a series x so looking forwards to checking out FS2020 on it.

Anyone who’s got both, is it correct that most of the marketplace upgrade airports are available for both but not all the city scenery eg orbx London Etc?

Is it just the developer that decides whether to do this for both in the marketplace?

I had that & even much slower on my connection with that update. It did eventually speed up the latter half of the download. It is not your connection . . . it is Microsoft.

Minimise & get on with life in the meantime smile

Did you fly the whole approach with that attitude? Saves wear on the tyres and you get a better view of the roundout I suppose. hehe

Update finally finished. Definitely some good changes and the added learning stuff is good.

Not sure if it's the software or my kit but the planes keep vering left. Might need to calibrate everything.

The MB-339 got released on the Xbox marketplace today which was a must have for me whilst I wait for the Hawk, does anyone have any good reviews of that? I’m not looking for DCS levels of realism I’m just hoping it flies as nice as the MB-339!

Anyway I spawned at Caernarfon near Anglesey/RAF Valley and was surprised to see some fellow MB-339s, then we all lined up together

Then we went for a flight through Wales, there were two more behind me during this clip! This was my first proper group flight I’ve had and it was with absolute randoms with no comms hehe

Think I saw the video on Reddit!

Looked awesome,

Love the 339, possibly my favourite aircraft for hooning around in.

Flightsim on the series x is absolutely fantastic, especially once you’ve sorted out the controller sensitivity and dead zone Etc.

Really impressed with it and it just works.

I'm another big fan of the 339, the first payware I got.
Its designer is doing it for DCS too, it was available as freeware for a while

I was having a bit more mess on with this the other day, I can see some potential for enjoyment exploring the world, but there are so few planes and what there is available is hardly exciting.

When I think of the cool aircraft in existence, you'd think a few more of them would be in this game, but most of what you get is boring propellor planes, many of which look absolutely ancient. There's a few turboprops which are ok, the only jets available in the base game are a couple of dull as dishwater passenger jets.

I see there is a Eurofighter Typhoon in the store but it has bad reviews. I can't believe there is such a dearth of exciting stuff to fly in a flight sim. The modeling of the world is quite impressive, it's a shame the plane roster is not very inspiring.

Is the A-10 as bad as reviews have made out? (No HUD, no visible gun, horrid handling etc)

Looks like all the reviews are similar.
I think there are problems with HUDs generally in the SIM itself,or at least there were, but quite a few planes have been rushed out badly,eh Typhoon, although the F15 has improved a lot I hear
