DCS does have some civil stuff. The Christian Eagle II, & Yak 52, I think a Pitts is in development. But there's little to do with them. There are only 4 flight areas in DCS.

Still great game though, but better at full MilSim

What edition do folk think they will buy ?

Think will just go for the basic as not sure PC will handle it and looking at it, a few extra aircraft and tarted up airports dont want me to spend double, at least not intially. Main thing is the scenery everywhere else.

PC isnt far off the middle spec they posted so should run fine, am amazed my 1060 is still available and fairly expensive four years after buying it.

I'm on the Alpha.... I'll be trying it on GamePass first... Make of that what you will....

I think most people are unfamiliar with how the sim market works so will wonder what the hell that pricing is all about.

I'll be very curious to see how much better the premium airports are but I can't see my life being enhanced enough to cough up the extra.

I’d like the B787 and Heathrow which puts me in the expensive group but it might be better getting third party aircraft and airports you want anyway? Especially if it’s for realism and practicing/learning procedures etc

We’ve got the game pass so certainly won’t be pre ordering anything.

A physical DVD (s) of this will be released. If it isn't significantly more expensive I think this is the one I'll do. I can't face a download of that size.

Some leaked gameplay footage here - https://www.joyfreak.com/threads/microsoft-flight-...

Not great video quality but you get a taste.

It'll be one of the testers who leaked it and there aren't any console versions of them. There's a Reddit thread about it and someone says the leaker has a very modest GPU.

https://old.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/com...

And it's on one of those innumerable obscure video sites that are incapable of looking good no matter what the circumstances.

I thought it looked pretty good, especially if its video grabbed from a low spec PC.

Might be partly because it made me feel less bad about my skills biggrin

It makes me dribble for VR and a next generation of headset.

Yeah, I have an OR and tried Xplane with it, I also work on old airliners for fun (ate my lunch int he captains seat of a Trident on Saturday biggrin) and its exactly the same feeling, Google Earth VR gives a hint at what 2020 in VR may be like.

The control side needs to improve, the resolution cant compete with a decent monitor setup even if the immersion is mind blowing and it can be a bit wearing after a while, oh and the wires get on your tits pretty quick.

But thats where it needs to go, next gen wireless headset, with higher resolution and that scenery will be mind blowing.

The HP Reverb G2 is looking promising. The resolution is being raved about. I'm not too bothered about wires for this type of thing. It's probably going to require a monstrous PC to run everything at the same time.

The G2 does look good. I am waiting to see what Vive bring (if anything) but seriously considering an upgrade to my gen 1 vive and the G2 is probably top of the list at the moment.

Came across this. Looks like great fun but I was feeling a bit sick just watching it!

Anyway, I'm not sure if I am going to go for the PC or Xbox version. My PC will run FSX at around 60fps so it's unlikely it'll run FS2020 too nicely so I'll either have to spend the money on a PC (and spec it for VR) or wait for the new Xbox.

The idea of casually flying around whilst sat on the couch, using my TV and surround sound is very appealing but I can't help but think the Xbox version will be a little cut down from the PC version. Then obviously you've got the ORBX additions and such which have made FSX so much better over the years.

biggrin If your PC will run FSX at 60fps you will probably be running FS2020 at 120fps ! What hardware are you running.

Ok....so how much do I need to spend to get this looking like in the videos? I’m assuming £1500 with all the controllers, Track IR etc.

Looks bloody amazing. Haven’t played PC Sims since the f awful IL2 Battle of Stalingrad but my interest is piqued by this.....and DCS too.

Dont spend anything yet.... Try it on Game Pass when launched.
