Anyone playing this on Xbox S via Game Pass? If so, how does it play?
Yes me. Bought a used xbox series s just to dabble with this. Works perfect with no glitches or complicated install issues etc. Took a day or so to download the main programme, and another half a day for the various scenery updates that I opted for. Can't comment on in-game resolution and fps, as I'm just running an a two year old ultrawide monitor, but smooth, no stuttering, good enough for me.SeanyD said:

There’s loads of comparative videos on YouTube,I think the s just has a bit more pop up of scenery all the reviews were pretty positive.
I hung out for an x but it is a good bit more expensive and harder to get hold of at the moment.
The Xbox controller is very sensitive but I’ve enjoyed playing it with it and have got the hang of it now. You’ll probably have to change the sensitivity after a few goes as it will make it a bit easier.
There’s only really one Xbox joystick which isn’t the best plus you have to plug it into the Xbox as far as I understand.
I prefer just sitting back on the sofa without all the cables and wires etc tbh.

Top Gun pack delayed until the middle of next year.

How much of the Serie S storage does it use up? I'm thinking of getting one just for this, also.
Its just over 100G, or around a third of the series s hard drive. I'm just using the xbox controller, which seems okay for all the basic airplane controls, enough for me to do a regular flight from Heathrow to Newcastle and back. I'm sure the more advanced you want to get may uncover some of the limitations, but for just mucking around, the controller seems perfectly fine.I dont take it overly seriously like some on here, for me it's just to kill half an hour mucking around when I fancy a break from work. Not fussed about a zillion fps or a billion pixels per inch, as long as it's playable and pleasant on the eye, which it is, so all good for me on an xbox series s.

Anyone been doing the bush trips?
Everyone I do the second leg always seems to have the route vanish from the VFR map and the navigation kit etc.
The first leg always works fine but the second has all the info missing. Obviously you can still fly it but it’s a lot harder and you can’t just press the NAV button and sit back enjoying the view.

I’m doing the last bush trip atm, the one in California and Nevada. No nav button in the savage cub and I’m also doing it without using “back on track” for the achievement. It is certainly a challenge! Also trying to complete it from the cockpit view where there is only the analogue compass. Very difficult to stick to a heading using that and no AP!
I’ve not seen the map bug for a while (in other planes) but it has happened, and unfortunately I don’t think there is anything we can do about it as players.
As a side note, the bush trip mode is crying out for an Australia bush trip. It surely must be coming in a later update, and hopefully a world update with it.

Isn’t there an option to turn on ‘help’?
Pretty sure I played with the settings so I can see a map, but it doesn’t show me my position or direction of travel, so I have to use the description to work out the route.
Maybe that’s how you’re supposed to do it? Pretty sure I played with the settings so I can see a map, but it doesn’t show me my position or direction of travel, so I have to use the description to work out the route.
Odd thought hat the first leg always shows the route on the VFR map and the subsequent ones don’t?
Would be nice if we could have a filter on the world map showing all the airports we’ve landed at? I’ve just been flying around landing at loads of farm strips this morning, quite fun just randomly shutting down the engine and finding somewhere to land in the 152.
Really like this flight sim. On the Xbox it’s great for just having a fly about or trying something a bit more complex.

That one’s the hardest. I got bored and crashed trying to fly really low over one of the lakes on one of the early legs I think just near the destination airport.I’ve not seen the map bug for a while (in other planes) but it has happened, and unfortunately I don’t think there is anything we can do about it as players.

The Bordeaux to mont blanc one has a really hard strip on the side of a hills, I could only find one using Google earth on my iPad and little nav map on my PC, on my Xbox there’s no littlenavmap so you have far less help.
I bought the VFR FS academy bush trip add on (7 bush trips can’t remember the price) and that’s got an Australian one down the Gold Coast. Like the originals the route disappears after the first leg but you can still follow it either using tracks and the map or the moving map.

I think there’s loads you can add on the pc from flightsim.to but on the Xbox you can’t as far as I can see unless they’re in the marketplace.

Thanks for this. Will have a look after I've done the Nevada one. On PC here so easy to mod.The Bordeaux to mont blanc one has a really hard strip on the side of a hills, I could only find one using Google earth on my iPad and little nav map on my PC, on my Xbox there’s no littlenavmap so you have far less help.

Also, no one is discussing world update 6? There is a new setting to adjust the amount of terrain held in memory. Should stop some of the horrible pop in for those of us with PCs that can handle it My 32GB of RAM may get used finally!
Edit: 4 new bush trips added in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
