I upgraded from a Playseat Challenge to a Sim Labs GT 1 Evo rig (which is solid as a rock!) with Sparco Rev bucket seat. Fanatec V3 clubsport load cell pedals set with the brake performance upgrade (fiddly to install but, highly recommended). TH8A shifter, which can also be used as a sequential shifter or analogue handbrake.

That reminds me, I have a Thrustmaster T3PA pedal set currently gathering dust. If anyone needs a pedal upgrade, drop me a PM.

Only bit not pictured is the HTC Vive.

Wheel is a Thrustmaster T300 RS. Fine for now but, next will be a wheel upgrade -I just need to save some pennies first! Mainly play PCars 2 and dabble with Assetto Corsa & Dirt Rally. All on PC

A little update....

G920 is here, birthday coming up shortly so that's that sorted.

Once I've done some measuring I'll knock something up to hold the wheel/pedals, but for the seat I'm using a chair-shaped beanbag that I bought ages ago and used twice.

Also keeps the overall size down and makes it a bit more mobile.

Had first experience of racing sim with some guys at work & quite interested in having a rig at home question I have is what do I need for a decent setup, currently have a PS2 & PS3 but hooked up to the TV in the lounge. I have an old racing seat but that's it. Is it worth getting a gaming pc? What steering wheel is best?

Check out all these posh set ups. Get a load of my budget version. Ikea chair and shelf. biggrin

Another Ikea seat lash-up for use with TV and PS4. Been going for quite a few years now and "adjustable" with the meaty Velcro straps :-). Under the wooden arms I have fitted PVC foam tape so it sits snuggly and doesn't scratch the wood (or move).

Chaps, if you have the IKEA Poang chair like I do, I use this, not sure if you can use it for other wheels but it is amazing for the G920 I have, keeps it all neatly stored together and quickly removable

Not mine; but Mark Armstrong gaming. Truck driving sim. He's had some bad luck health wise and is unable to work or hold a license/licence, so basically plays truck video games all day as his passion is for trucks.

Standard g29 and playseat challenge setup. My choice of 42" TV was a mistake so grabbed a 27" monitor.

Only playing rbr on the pc until my ps4 arrives, but it's great to be back on wheel again after 6 years. Still need to find some steering wheel settings and get used to the silly brakes but looking forward to it.

I do like the climb in aspect Steve. I imagine it gives that F1 feel?
Haha I hadn't thought of that.

I have the same Ikea seat combined with a wheel stand pro for supporting a G29 with modified pedal set.

Almost finished mine, just need to finish painting it tonight.

Pretty simple design, a square frame for the floor, two angled uprights at each side and a plywood top for the wheel and shifter, then a separate frame for the seat so I can move it to the side out of the way.

I'll get some pics tonight when I've finished painting it, I've even impressed myself, 5hink the wood was around £24 and the can of paint was £6.

I keep meaning to sort out one of these to use: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07PQL429V/?coliid=I8I...

I already have a bucket seat that will go straight on there so not an issue for me.

At the moment I just use my office chair dropped as low as it will go with two wooden wedges under the wheels to stop it moving back when I press the brake pedal.

Has anyone used the GT Omega Apex wheel stand?

I had been attaching my G29 to my desk for Project Cars or ETS on PC, but the desk has been put in the loft, so need something that is lounge friendly for the PS4, so not looking for one with a seat.

I found the playseat challenge a little cramped when I found one in Currys (although I have lost 10kg since then, so maybe worth trying again)

Why do you prefer a smaller monitor? I went up from a 32 to a 47!

Here's mine - as simple as they come really, playseat challenge with T300RS wheel and pedals, with the alcantara rim, TH8A shifter, and tv stood on a £5 Ikea table (pedals under the table)

It was more my OH (who I'd convinced I'd get a nice monitor for her office hehe) who was unimpressed. 27 isnt too bad if I keep it nice and close and adjust FOV. I'd love a triple monitor and pc one day

What can I say, I've been doing this for 10 years plus and the urge to upgrade is a constant force, the mancave contains:

Expensive gaming PC i5 8600K + 1080Ti
Pimax 8K VR Headset
34" Super widescreen monitor
Thrustmaster T500RS + T3PA Pro (loadcell kit) + TH8a shifter
Thrustmaster T16000m FCS incl throttle
Dofreality P3 motion platform

...and one very understanding wife, who usually finds out about upgrades after the event wink
