So there's a new Need For Speed game coming in November.

https://youtu.be/9ewiJJe_nYI

https://www.ea.com/en-gb/games/need-for-speed/need...

Unnecessary story? Yes.
Police cars? Yes.
Street racing? Yes.
Body kits and graphics? Yes.
Skylines, Porsches, Merc/BMW/Audi etc...

Standard NFS then, without showing any in game. It has got a Polestar in it though.

It's EA so they probably will find a way to microtransaction it. PC, Xbox and PS4. If it's on Game Pass I'll probably play it, looks like its Origin Access though, so not sure if it will be.

Having played far too much Forza horizon over the last year, I'll be interested in seeing what the gameplay looks like. I haven't played a NFS game since most wanted which this seems like it'll be similar to.

Have they fixed the handling etc to feel a bit more.. normal? After being able to tune everything in forza, it'll be too frustrating driving a crap car I think

Gameplay trailer has appeared.

Strikes me as looking like 'NFS 2015 2.0' especially the night setting.

Good to see high amounts of customisation though.

Not going to pre-order this one as there's been too many mistakes for me on that lately, but I'm still interested to see in how this reviews as I've always loved NFS games and have played/got most of them.

Shame Toyota have dropped out due to licencing but the backlash is undeserved imo. Has anyone in the UK got that app? Still says it's not available on the app store here.

It does have those vibes. I skipped the last NFS and it seemed all Lootboxy and just replayed 2015 a few times. I hope it has decent mods available and doesn't push you in to supercars. I loved smashing super cars with my old Civic stbox.

I hope so, I got through quite a bit of MW(2005) with the starter IS before moving up to the Supra (I know not a crap car but not as good as the lambos and ford gts) and quite a bit with the rx8/brera on carbon.

Forzas in various guises filled a bit of a gap for point to point racing (horizon in particular). Tried PC1 and PC2 but couldn't get on with it and the DIRTs for point to point stages weren't bad (albeit not street point to points), hoping this returns to the days of underground/carbon/hot pursuit/midnight club 3.

There is an app called 'NFS Heat Studio' where you can modify some of the cars, more added each week by the look of it.

Most of these games end up the same, amazing customization and arcade physics, will still end up buying it regardless!

Ahh the car list is a bit of a bummer. They have really made an effort for the modern supercar fans which is fair enough, but it feels like they are missing out on a lot of old school street racing cars. A big part of it is the Toyota shaped hole in the list.

Toyota didnt want to be involved because of the street racing element.

Toyota have deleted their original tweet, but it is available in some of the replies.

Which is all quite funny considering they are more than happy to supply new Supras to the Fast and Furious franchise...

Nice app, but on my Samsung S8, it eats battery life and the phone gets hot.

Is anyone playing this? It's generally pretty good, I've got a few issues with the film grain filter and blurriness of the graphics, and its crashed a few times back to the dashboard in the first few hours of playing it (Xbox One, not a One X). The graphics editor and paint options look good, much potential there. The police are aggressive at first, but you can outrun them more easily with an upgraded car. The only other issue is more on me than the game, being used to Forza on the controller and thinking Y is rewind (it isn't, there's no rewind).

This is reading a bit negative, but I didn't mean it to be, I am liking the game.

Thanks for the views, I've held off waiting for some reviews - normally I'm a big fan of the series but Payback was so awful I couldn't pre-order again.

Do you think it would be possible to win with one car? I've just re-completed NFS:U2 with the AE86 hehe

How hard are the cops at the start? Heard they are really bad which causes issues when trying to do stuff behind heat level 3

What are the day races like? I was not a fan of shift so don't really want to be doing that again.

In for comments. I'm between buying this and COD for some brain out action. Is the map fun enough to just plod around and muck about on? Got the PC/wheel/VR for sim stuff. Just fancy a game I can sit down and tune out on at the moment!

The modding looks amazing as per but wanting to know if there's enough going on behind the scenes to keep interest.

Metacritic reviews https://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/need-for-...

One other thing that may be me being used to Forza, as far as I can tell the drifting is done by either accelerating or braking when you're turning to kick the rear out. There's a setting for brake or accelerate. It is weird at first, in the first race you do there's no explanation or warning in the game that you'll be drifting off into the barriers instead of going round corners hehe I've set it to brake and I'm getting used to it now.
