I have a Playseat Trophy so will throw some input in
It is very light in and of itself, so a lot more shiftable than the previous rig I had. It is also fairly compact in terms of footprint etc.
It'd need to be a fairly deep cupboard.
It isn't quickly adjustable, so don't think you'll be quickly folding the backrest flatter or something for storage.
Once a direct drive wheel is on it and metal pedals etc., it's inevitably heavier and more awkward to move. I wouldn't want to be getting it out and packing it away before / after every session, but to be fair would feel the same about any solution really. 20 years ago when it was a wheel clamped to the PC desk, even the faff of unclamping / reclamping the wheel base was a bit too much effort
As a physical thing, the Trophy is at least a little more aesthetically pleasing, but appreciate it's hardly the height of stylish lounge furniture
I am interested in a Playseat Trophy as an upgrade from my Playseat Evolution. One thing I haven't really seen is any accessories / mounts for shifter/ handbrake. I run with a thrustmaster TSS hand brake mainly for rallying so would need this mounting somewhere. It is very light in and of itself, so a lot more shiftable than the previous rig I had. Rather disappointingly it seems that the Fanatec bundle link I had saved was actually in Euros and not available over here. After much searching, the same package in the UK was about £300 or so more expensive, but the loadcell kit was out of stock.
Long story short the alcohol started to wear off so I actually found the Logitech G29 on amazon second hand for about £170, so decided to buy that just in case I wasn't as keen on the racing sim idea as I first thought.
Bought a Playseat Challenge as well, spending about £350 for everything.
Not had much chance to properly play since it arrived on Monday, hopefully will get some time tomorrow and Friday. I wonder what, if anything, will make me decide to upgrade and spend £1,200 or so on the Fanatec stuff.....

Oooohhh didn’t know the fantaec pedals would work with this wheel. That could be a good mix
I don't know if this is allowed........I've just upgraded my Fanatec pedals and my CSL + load cell set up will be for sale.
Your posts have reminded me to do so. If you're interested I'd prefer to sell to a long time PHer, rather than some random off of ebay.

Apologies, I missed this. Playseat sell a handbrake / shifter mount. It's one product that covers either the tall TH8A style shifter, or the various other Logitech / fanatec style shifters / handbrakes. They mount to the 'corner' of the frame, where it peaks at the edge of the seat effectively.
Position wise it's very nice, I have my TH8A mounted to it even though it's not currently in use with the darn PS5 but can confirm it'd be perfectly positioned if I could actually use it with GT7. I actually bought two of them, one for each side, and have the flat one on the right hand side that I put the controller / my phone on as a little table

They’re two USB devices so show as separate controllers and I set up in the game (ACC mainly) which I want to use. Sounds or PS5 only allows one controller, this talks about an adapter:https://simracingsetup.com/product-guides/fanatec-...
Although if it’s £80 for that then might be better off just putting up with the g29 pedals and saving up to buy a complete setup

Does anyone own the Ferrari SF1000 wheel?
Xbox player here with the Logitech G920 which I love but starting to feel the pull towards an upgraded wheel for F1 & the new Forza.
I've noticed PC & PS5 seem to have native support for most games - the on screen telemetry comes via the USB connection, whereas the on the Xbox you're required to connect the wheel to WiFi & use UDP. Does it reduce functionality?
Any other thoughts about the wheel & which base to use?
Somewhat put off by Fanatec & the problems people seem to have with them. Even if they have support there seems to be a lot of people with issues during the warranty period.

The SF1000 is a Thrustmaster wheel and will most likely only work with a thrustmaster base, so you're stuck there unfortunately.Xbox player here with the Logitech G920 which I love but starting to feel the pull towards an upgraded wheel for F1 & the new Forza.

As with most things it really comes down to budget, although I would say that Logitech stuff seems to be more durable than Fanatec. Thrustmaster I'd lump in with Fanatec as okay but with longevity issues.

You say you are put off fanatec issues/ problems. Xbox player here with the Logitech G920 which I love but starting to feel the pull towards an upgraded wheel for F1 & the new Forza.

Thrustmaster have plenty of issues of their own! I'm on my 3rd T300 base due to issues, current one was a replacement under warranty. I've seen plenty of reliability issues with the SF1000 wheel too.
Not 100% sure whether you're pc or console but for me, console only, if I was starting from scratch and had the budget, I'd go straight to Fanatec. I stay with Thrustmaster as I have a couple of wheels and I'm hoping the T818 comes out for consoles soon.
My Fanatec pedals arrived today, thanks Blib.
It seems you can't just mount these on the Playseat Challenge though......does anyone have these pedals and seat combo with a good way to mount them? I've resorted to cable ties which seem to do the job, but obviously not the most ideal solution.
Having said it works, I haven't actually been able to use them yet, because the adapter I bought to make the Fanatec pedals work with my Logitech wheel didn't exactly make it obvious I'd also need to drop money on one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ThrustMaster-TH0135-T-RJ1...
I've found it a bit cheaper, but it's another £30 plus won't arrive for some days, so a bit annoying.
But, my main question is what do I need to buy next to make the pedals fit permanently to the seat set up with relying on cable ties?
