I’ve been having a lot of fun on it, I’d recommend finding a gun you like and sticking with it to unlock everything, as it takes a while. Spec ops is extremely hard and needs sorting out imo, I’ve done the first two but the third is virtually impossible with seemingly infinite enemies that spawn behind you

Correct, however as it will put you in a lobby with similarly experiences players you often get a host in the USA or Eastern Europe. In games with U.K. players my ping is around 30-40 but often I’m in lobbies where my ping is 70-80.AmosMoses said:

Genuine question, why are you so sure SBMM is in the game? Whether CoD uses SBMM is an argument as old as CoD itself and, as far as i'm aware, in every game people have been convinced it exists and the various developers have denied it. My understanding is that remains true for MW, not least as Driftor was tweeting asking for access to players accounts so he could test for SBMM. Based on that i assume that the official position from Infinity Ward is that it isn't in the game. So as i say, genuine question, have IW said it includes SBMM? Or any other official sources for that matter? I tried to Google but was getting mainly Reddit threads...Edited by Snubs on Monday 18th November 16:39
There is only one way to get good at COD online, play it
I had a rare day yesterday, missus was busy, nothing to do, spent a good 5-6 hours online, went from 0.50 K/D to a solid 1 most games and even 1.5 in some, you learn the maps, you learn the modes you get better, I was topping out in a good few games
SBBM and Ping etc seem to be just excuses for getting your arse handed to you by kids, it'll happen, I used to be able to jump on every night and for hours at a weekend, now I'm an "adult" I just cannot dedicate that time so people are going to leap ahead
You'll all be loving annihilating the Xmas noobs when they all get it, swings and roundabouts

Short version; there's some kind of SBMM going on, but not necessarily what people might think.
2 days in to MP now. Lvl 135 or something. Got gold on a few guns as well and completeing the rank challenges is fun as it forces yiou to use stuff you wouldn't normally (throwing knives for example - Finally got a cross map kill with one ). Still loving it even with this SBMM thing in it and have managed to hold my own in some of the most sweatest lobbies known to man kind.
RE: SBMM, I can see why it's their, to protect new/disabled players but by heck, if you have a good few games in a row you get matched with some proper hardcore COD players and you have to switch to a meta class (M4/725 combo). This seems a bit meh though as you can't just lob on any old class and have fun with it. If you do you get creamed.

Video certainly was interesting, I would agree there is some form of SBMM going on but it sure isn’t obvious.
I’ve played lots and lots of cod and battlefield over the years and like to think I’m reasonably good.
Tuesday I played and lost every game, despite me trying to capture as many flags/tags as I could, I also struggled to get above about a 1 kd. Tonight I played, won pretty much every game without really trying, tested ignoring flags and tags and just killing players.
I’m enjoying it but this constant up and down of games is making me struggle to just pick up the game and play.
I’m getting a little sick of all the complaining and b
hing on reddit but when you compare this to say MW2 they do have a point.

Surely that's exactly what you want in a game? You get matched with similar people and sometimes you do well in a game, sometime you do not so well. You therefore have interesting competitive matches.
Are the above average players unhappy that they can't just easily win every game with a massive K/D ratio and rank up really quickly?
I'd have thought being top of the ranking board all the time would get boring pretty quickly.

Interesting video, my issue is that i'm a 'casual' player, not in it for a million quid.
I can only play for an hour or so before life gets in the way, kids, wife, work. It's not as fun as it used to be, as soon as I get a couple of kill streaks it's like a switch is flipped and i'm in a lobby with rank 155's and getting my ass kicked. If I have the time, I persevere and somehow it calms down.
Or I end up turning the console off as i'm in the huff.
I swear, euphrates bridge spawns me next to the house and I get immediately sniped upon arrival. How is that fair? Or someone has a VTOL that's constantly drilling people as they spawn. Really gets my goat that.

It's a problem because it does not seem to be done in increments. I am in a games where I will finish top 3 and win a few games then all of a sudden Im bottom with 5 kills. I never seem to be in the middle it always seems to be I am either good or really really bad. Surely that's exactly what you want in a game? I have also noticed being in a clan or playing with friends is a massive issue. If I play alone then I get the above scenario. If I play with my friends who a couple of them are very good I cant compete. Makes me want to play it solo and that should not be the aim of the game.
It may all be in my head though and skilled matchmaking may not exist.
Oh and theres a 13Gb update today on a Friday
