My PKM melt machine is gold and I'm about 40 long shots off getting gold on the M4 but nowhere near on anything else. I've not tried the shotguns other than the .725 which after a long trial of different setups, I've only just got one that works. Still trying to get a Carbine setup that works as I'm mince meat to anyone using a Carbine against me but when I use one, I'm struggling to get decent kills.
Similar, the Kilo is my go to and only bothered getting that Gold. Certainly took a while to get Mounted kills but the Long Shots took the longest, think some didn't count fsr.
Shotguns are good but I just don't enjoy using them as much and therefor rarely bother with them, even when selected as a secondary. Will try the Akimbo though

I needed some AR long shots recently for a diffrent challenge, so played groundwar realism for the longer distances and because you need fewer shots to kill . Then for the first time I used one of the thermal sights on the AR to more easily locate people at longer distances, plus the thermal sights are around 3.5x magnification. It worked an absolute treat and i was picking up long range AR kills left, right and centre!Cbull said:

I only use shotguns for shipment, which is also an excellent map for levelling handguns up on as it's all close quarters fighting. I spent ages swapping weapons on other maps to get handgun kills until I tried it there. Learn from my error people Shotguns are good but I just don't enjoy using them as much and therefor rarely bother with them, even when selected as a secondary. Will try the Akimbo though
So after killing a few people who dropped that new assault rifle, the Grau 5.56 which I picked up and absolutely loved, it is so accurate with hardly any recoil and so powerful. I just had to have it, so despite telling myself I won't pay for extras I bought the (cheaper) Battle Pass to get it.
With the right attachments, barrel, tac laser, 50 round mags, commando grip, rear grip it just rips, people have no chance against it.

I've just started playing with the Grau. You don't have to pay for it though you get it free with the battle pass on level 15 (I think). I just ripped through some of the daily and weekly challenges to get it. I did a flash bang challenge in one game in shipment 
You have to buy the battle pass though right? Otherwise I have wasted a few quid.Oh FFS I have just checked and you don't have to buy the Battle Pass, what an idiot, think I was on about level 12 battle pass when I purchased it!

Playing in NZ, the differences between servers are comical.
I most often play with my brothers and his mates back in the UK on European servers, on which, despite the touch of lag, I more than hold my own on.
If I play on my own on Aussie servers, it's painful. If you're finding people camp on European servers DO NOT try Australian. A vast majority have zero interest in completing any sort of objectives, all content racking up the losses but keeping their K/D ratio as high as possible. It's most noticeable how often matches end by the time limit rather than a team achieving the victory goal.
As for the game itself, absolutely love the Famas type gun, FR 556. Just got the Thermal/red dot hybrid and it's a dream, covers 90% of the maps for me.

I've had a chance to use the Grau a bit more and I'd agree. Quite possibly the best AR in the game. I've got it to around level 20, so don't have access to all the attachments but the one that made the big difference was the short barrel, helpfully unlocked early on. With that equipped your ADS time is super quick, up there with the faster SMGs. Combine that with a fast time to kill and i was destroying with it yesterday. Tried the Bizon, it was alright but I definitely feel more comfortable using the MP7/Aug. Got the Grau looking like an SMG and it feels like one too, super weapon.
The more I play this game the more I get frustrated with different game types. Started off playing and enjoying all kinds on core & HC but now I've dwindled down to core S&D, TDM, KC & Gunfight. The rest just seem frustrating in one way or another.
I couldn't even tell you what all that Battle Pass is about. I'm not one for progressing stuff and doing tasks, I just play.
The most frustrating thing about this game is the menu, it says I have something new and I haven't. This is the kind of thing that gives people heart attacks
