I've heard it's got some major improvements, namely the ai and team management, anyone picking it up today? Last one on current gen consoles....

I've been playing since Wednesday (Schumacher edition released a little early) and really enjoying it.

It pretty much carries on where F1 2019 left off so it has the same look interface wise but there are small tweaks and improvements all around and I haven't come across anything game breaking yet.

I've just jumped straight into a season, creating my own team and starting down the route of development. The only think I am not sure is how hard to set the AI. Being a new team I'm not sure if I should be battling at the back with the Williams or higher up the mid-field so I'm just going to tweak it till it feels right (qualified 17th but finished 6th).

In my first race (29 laps) I had a couple of good battles with Perez and Sainz (around 5/7 laps each battle). They sometimes seemed reluctant to throw it down the inside when there was enough time but perhaps bumping up the AI difficulty will improve this.

Still playing 2019 but looking at getting 2020. Does it still have the same repetitive fp challenges during career mode? Would like a bit more variety in them!

Still the same.

Tyre, ERS, fuel mangement. Qual and race strategy. Track acclimatisation and the other little extra bits. Was a least for my first race.

It would be good if you had to perform a certain program if you had upgrades brought to the race to test them out and see if they improve the car.

How's the handling? Current F1 drivers complained the cars were too nervous on F1 2019.

How does the change to ERS deployment work?

I only bought F1 2019 a month or so back, and i'm pondering whether to leave it a while.

I haven't played 2019 for a while so I can't really make a fair comparison.

I haven't noticed too many unusual quirks during my time driving. The car generally seems to do what you expect. You can catch the odd quick slide but you know when it has gone too far and you just become a passenger.

ERS deployment is far simpler when it comes to the race. The game basically controls the ERS system but you are given an overtake button which uses any available power. You can turn it on for just a few seconds to get a boost or you can keep it on for longer if you're planning an attack. I quite like it because constantly changing the ERS was a challenge for me with having the controls away from the steering wheel. I guess some people would want more control though.

You can still change your fuel mixture for more, or less, power.

Anyone else noticing the Quali practice programme is near-impossible? The delta time is far too hard a target...my team is the 8th best car on the grid, and I just topped the FP3 standings trying to beat the Quali programme but it wasn’t enough to even pass it, let alone perfect it.

I can just about pass it (albiet with the use of some flashbacks!) but can't get near perfecting it.

Thought it was just me.

Been following the F1 Codemasters page on fb and seems like there are plenty of issues with the game as it was first released including mega grid penalties for not using 2 compounds of tyres in a race even if you do. Think I will hold on a bit and see how it improves, season 4 for me on F1 2019 then!

That bug is nullified by adjusting the pit strategy before the race start.

Only issue I have found so far game play wise is its almost impossible with a controller without traction control on. Playing with linear setting does nothing.

Just bought this, last F1 game for me was F1 2010. Only played about 30 minutes so far, my team looks really interesting. The 'driving' experience for me on a Xbox controller is much more fun than Grid, Dirt, and Foza horizon.

Clearly alot of room to make it as hard or as easy as you like.

The graphics are fab too, will be playing this for a while smile.

Great picture, they've come on a long way since 2010!

Loving the My team feature and the 'casual' difficultly settings. Just spent the last 45 minutes making a new team with my 4 year old daughter and than finished 5 laps of Bahrain with me doing the steering and her doing the brakes/accelerator.

She even got really excited when we punted Hamilton off the track to take the lead. We than watched the replay of the race!! Beats watching Frozen or My little pony, well done CodeMasters you have my gratitude for making my daughter like F1smile.

Was a bit nervous about paying £45 for a game, but really enjoying F1 2020, they seem to have balanced game play and been too difficult well. Making a lunge stick after an DRS assisted drag is suprsignly fun - even though I than binned with wheel spin out of the corner, flashbacks saves the day smile.

This is probably one of the best racing games I've ever played. I'm having a blast with it, and I'm only 8th in the championship, 5 races in! The AI are superb, My Team mode is a great addition. I'll be playing this for a while!

I will do what I do with all F1 games, wait for the sale time on the PS Store to hit £20 or less then get it......

On the plus side my son enjoys playing it (well, he likes to crash and spin around on the track etc but he is only 4!)

As a heavy F1 gamer right back to the days of Geoff Crammonds Microprose GP this game is high on my list to get. The last codemasters F1 game I had was F1 2017 which was okay but I felt it came up short a touch.

A couple of questions for those who are currently playing. How have you set the AI Level when creating your team and in general? I’d be keen to create a new team but would want to fight from the back but still keeping it enjoyable. I know that’s a very individual question as people are better than others but has anyone found a good balance for a seasoned racer.

Secondly, how do the AI perform? Do you get plenty of incidents, retirements, crashes and safety cars? Also, do you get the chance to replay and see these rather than the drivers just disappear from the race standings?
