I've had the regulation change warning now, but not which parts I need to redevelop.

Managed to accidently get my first win in USA as well. Wet to dry race, pitted a lap earlier than the front runners, under VSC and took a set of dry's. Smashed it and finished ahead of Gasly and Grosjean, so a very odd podium. My teammate finished 8th. Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari all failed to score.

Sounds about right to me - good luck
Next race was Vietnam, not China (new calendar, doh!) and had a race long battle with the Haas pair for 16th place which makes it look like Bahrain was an anomaly with retirements, etc. Will stick with AI at 90 and see how I get on.

Finally finished the first season!

Am no racing god so set the difficulty at 60%, TC/ABS on, minimal crash damage, and lots of flashbacks used. Spent lots of the races been a moving road block for the Ferraris after the RedBulls/Mercedes romp off into the distance.

Cannot fault the AI racing, some really close stuff, and the crashes are spectacular - when viewed from the right angle its nearly always me causing them!

Tailgating a Ferrari up Eau Rouge, surviving Monaco, and been reminded of the Singapore/Belgium F1 for real were my personal highlights, next seasons will try not use flashback so often and will bump up the AI setting smile.

Picked up my first points in Baku in a rainfest courtesy of a well timed safety car restarts, a few DNFs and a few stopping 2 or 3 times. Definitely wouldn't have been up there without the rain.

I seem to be in an R&D war with Alfa and Haas, swapping places each race dependent on whose upgrade arrives that week. I do now have all R&D generation aspects of facilities up to Spec 1 so that should help.

Does anyone else find there is quite a difference between the qualifying goals in the practice program and where they actually quali? I regularly don't meet my goal of 20th/21st in the practice program but my average quali position is 17th.

I haven't had too many issues personally. Struggle with the tyre test most!

I see a massive difference between qualifying and race days though. My race pace is always so much quicker!

Finally finished another season on F1 2019 (Xbox) so decided to switch over to F1 2020 (Stadia)

Started Benetton Formula One, Me + Mick Schumacher using the Ferrari engine. Race 1, Quali P3, finished lap 1 in P1, started dropping back to 6th and then pitted, came out quite far back as needed a new nose apparently! was comfy in P10 on last lap but managed to snatch P9 from Vettel on last corner!

livery is based on Benetton B192/193 cars.

Just bought/downloaded this game on the weekend, have had a 4-hour blast with it, but mixed emotions... there's a hell of a lot to like about it, but I think I had just as much fun the last time I played an F1 game - F1 2004 on the PS2 lol.

I think I've either lost my touch with F1 sims, or I'm doing something wrong, or I'm not as good as I thought I was - I started the game up, went straight for the create-your-team career mode, set the AI difficulty to 85 straight away, no ABS, mid-level TC, full damage mode, (just how I like things)... and I'm really really struggling! I can't qualify higher than 20th at Melbourne GP with level 85 AI(?) - is that normal or am i just rubbish at this game despite bossing the PS2 versions back in the day on their hardest modes

Is it better to do a full-custom car setup over the more generic high downforce / mid downforce / low downforce etc settings?

I'm thinking about doing a random race weekend out of career mode with the Mercedes on 85 AI and see if I can qualify it on pole or do around a 1min 22sec and that way I can see if I'm doing things wrong with the create-a-team development

I want to give this game a chance, but admittedly I'm a V10 F1 era fanboy and preferred the greater variety of cars/teams and tracks back then!

It’s a great game but you need to it to feel realistic from the off to feel fully immersed I agree. There is a great codemasters video on YouTube covering the Spanish track in a bid to nail your AI levels....sadly different cars perform differently on different tracks. I’m on 105 AI and at circuits like France I’m left behind.

I created a team however and spent the first 2 seasons struggling to get out of Q1 however when you do start to improve the car and teammate there is huge satisfaction from winning your first point.

Beautiful looking game, plays so much better than Grid despite also been from Codemasters. Am tempted by F1 2021, though not sure what EA will add.

I have found lately my engineer appears to be on crack. Two examples - lap 10 of Monaco and he comes on the radio with a new strategy. Which is to change to softs on lap 6. And today he decided that my new strategy should be to switch to inters, On a dry track...... I mean in his defence he was saying that rain was expected in 15 minutes... For the whole race........

I have the same issue! It's not a massive issue, but very annoying have to ignore it lap after lap!

For some reason my second season of my team, I'm smashing it. I think I'm going to start again and max out the difficulty.

in F1 2004 I was able to match and beat the real qualifying and fastest race lap times from that season, but in this game I can't seem to get close to the actual qualifying lap times from 2020 season at all.

Is it easier on a proper sim/steering wheel setup rather than the controller? I feel my steering inputs aren't smooth enough and too fidgety when I want to make tiny inputs.

I've downloaded a few of the fastest setups for Monza outright Qualifying/hot laps and the best I've managed is 1min 19.8sec in the Mercedes and 1min 21.2sec in the Ferrari... not exactly great when others are doing 1min 18s and someone a 1min 17sec in a Renault lol.

The best I've managed at Spa qualifying in career mode with Alfa Romeo is a 1min 46sec which is way off the quickest Alfa in 2020 qualy which did a 1min 43.7sec

Atthough i did manage a 1min 20.7sec at Monza in the Ferrari F2004. Still struggling with this game though
