Why? .. And how would you go about it to make sure it can happen?

Realistically speaking, I'm sure everyone would like a job on the grand tour or being a car you tuber, this is PH after all.

Spent time as a teenager working school holidays on a family farm or one of the neighbouring farms. No other job I’ve had had ever made me as happy as working on those farms and I’ve had a few different jobs over the years and earned anything between 20k and 80k a year.

So if I had my time again I’d have tried to get into farming and all that comes with it. I had no idea you could go to farming college back then and no one encouraged it. In my early 40’s I guess it’s too late and the cost of property/land is prohibitive.

I'd enjoy being one of those people you see on the animal rescue shows. Driving around rescuing badly treated animals, cats stuck up trees and the like. It would be upsetting, I'd end up rehoming nearly every aninal to my place anyway but it would be rewarding and interesting.

I would become a nurse or mental health nurse. God knows how I'd go about it because I couldn't afford to go to university full time for 3 years, and I'd have to do an access course first!

I looked into doing that
It only paid £18k a year which was not enough for me.

The other thing is , I imagine it's worse than being a Nurse/Doctor .

For many , we view physical tragedy as a sad part of life but we accept it, but when it comes to mistreated animals , if you are an animal lover this can be incredibly hard for you.

Would be mentally, a very tiring job I suspect.

I'd love to get into Traffic policing but I mentioned in another thread on the forum, to "get there" would mean for me , a substantial paycut, I cannot afford for the next 2-3 years.

Although I suspect, in the next 5 years, we won't need jobs because no companies will exist any more frown

Navy/ Merchant navy.

I was turned down for an apprenticeship in the Merchant Navy just after I left school on medical grounds and I still regret that.

More seriously: I'd really like to get into data comms. A site engineer for the 5G network would be really interesting...

I've considered this for years, an idea planted by Chris Donald of VIZ complaining about the stress of the growth of VIZ. I've applied aplenty in the past year, but their automated recruitment thing is a pain. I'm doing something more comfortable for me right now, but Postie still appeals.

A good mate of mine is a Postie. Finishes around 12pm most days, starts about 7am. Lots are classed as part-time, took him a few years before he was offered a full time contract.

He absolutely loves it. Not sure what is pays but from what I understand it's mid 20's

Ive always wanted to either work in Demolition for a decent wage, or if IM going to be a pauper, then work with Animals.

I spent the first 8 years of my working life in Agriculture, and am qualified as well, but the money these days is dire.

That or a decent Logging firm, I have a good feel for running Hydraulics and machinery, and would love to run a Fellerbuncher or similar.....

Once tourism is back my dream job would be providing watersports in Ibiza, hiring out jet skis, parasailing, boat trips, that sort of thing. Or taking people on motorbike enduro tours.
Practicalities of uprooting kids and giving up a decent business in the uk means it will probably remain just a pipe dream, at least until retirement age and then my body might be too fked.
