A face only a mother could love?

At first glance I didn't like it but the more I look the better it gets. Does remind me of bionicle though! Does have increased capacity, new enginey bits, a 6 axis IMU and quite a few other enhancements too.

But is it enough to get over that face?

Ooft that’s ugly. Not Mt10 ugly where you can admire the transformer like nature. That’s 2004 multistrada ugly!!

Prefer it to the previous model but it's a marginal compliment; what's wrong with a round headlight on a naked bike? Worked alright for a century or so....

Spec looks great but based on that fugly headlight I think I'll be keeping my SP for now.

The new MT10 model will grab my attention! A 200bhp cross plane will be a lot of fun

I bloody love that, shame it’s not coming our way though. Well not the HRC cup bike anyways from what I’ve read.

As for the new 09, I just can’t like that front end.

I’ve just looked at the MT-03 which has a similar “pinhead” vibe in the headlight department.

I feel sorry for the MT-07 which hasn’t had any love from Yamaha. Is this because they are popular and don’t really need to refresh the looks?

I love it!

I’m going to be first in the queue to test ride it in spring.

Lots more tech on it than the current model. Colour TFT screen, up-down QS, assist/slipper clutch, 189kg WET weight, lean sensitive tc and cornering ABS. Etc.

AND they’ve ditched that abortion of a rear ‘plate hanger.

You can’t see the headlight when you’re riding it! wink

Been listening to the revised spec sheet, pretty impressive, definitely a lot of effort has gone into it.

But... Has anyone else seen the advert for it?

Jesus wept, the marketers are clearly aiming the bike at young men who enjoy assless chaps...

Seeing it in the video, I think it might actually look alright in the flesh.

I really hope the MT09 updates mean we can expect to see them on the new XSR900. With the classic looks, lighter frame and QS/Blipper it would be a brilliant 2nd bike
