Thought I would start a topic on DBD as I haven't seen any.

This game is still continuing to grow which is impressive since it's like 6 years old now.

Constantly being updated, with new killers/survivors/maps, updating graphics of old maps, updating animations/UI etc.

It's impressive to see a game having this much support given it's age. Just wondered if there is much people on here that play it?

I'm almost 500 hours into it. I play a good mix of survivor and killer. My favourite killers at the moment being Oni, Blight and Legion. I have all killers apart from the twins as they don't appeal to me but looks like the next killer is to be announced very soon.

Yes I played this a lot for a while, though only as survivor as I am terrible at killer and even level 20 players run rings around me.

Got to the point where I would get to rank 1 most seasons but after a while I stopped playing as it got really toxic. Most rank 1 players just try to protect their rank, so they’ll de-hook you early in the game to get the points but when it’s down to just 1 generator to go they all just hide and hope that someone else takes the risks, opens the gate and they escape.

I also got frustrated with all the “balancing” which usually meant tilting the game even more in the killers favour to encourage people to play as that role. Just when you’d get used to the new mechanics they’d tweak them again.

Enjoyed my time playing it but moved on now.

Installed it again yesterday after not playing for well over a year, my god, trying to get into a game is an excruciating long wait, only played a few games then gave up on it.

I think it's because there aren't enough killers playing. There are loads of survivors in a queue waiting for a game to be matched to a killer. It's why the game is balanced in favour of killers - the makers are trying to make that role more attractive to players to address this issue.

Originally the makers said that the balance they were aiming for was 2 survivors sacrificed and 2 escaping in the average game. That's incredibly rare in my experience. The last "new" map I played was the one set in the school themed with the hooded killer. That map was totally balanced towards killers - I didn't escape from it a single time. Was one of the reasons I stopped playing, it became no fun when there was practically no prospect of escaping. And as mentioned the toxicity of Rank 1 & 2 players who play as individuals for rank rather than as team.
