Mine arrived yesterday, took about 2 hours to replace the hard drive (would have been half an hour less if I remembered to re-connect the battery...)
Then its a case of how fast is your internet to download games.
I have played a couple of games so far it seems good. I think the only issue is perhaps ergonomics its not quite as comfortable as holding a normal ps or xbox controller. I have no issue with those.
Anyone got any good game suggestions?

Regular reminder not to buy Forza Horizon 4. Regular crashes which make the game virtually unplayable and apparently no fix is coming. Frustrating thing is it works fine for the first few hours (aka the refund window) during the more restricted phase (tutorial, basically), but goes to st when it becomes fully open world
How much space on your main hard drive? I heard that shaders can take up a lot of space?
Re vampire survivors, really good game so far - defo addictive.
Only snag I have hit is I cant buy games on the deck, it just sits there processing. Have to go to my main PC and do it on there.
Weird, tried re-boot etc but no joy.

100+ GB free so shouldn't be an issue, shader updates have calmed down now I've stopped buying games! When you sort for date on Forza Horizon 4 there are pages of recent issues with crashing on PC and Steam Deck.Re vampire survivors, really good game so far - defo addictive.

As for the Steam Store, the phone app is miles better, less buggy/laggy and doesn't have the payment issues of the Deck itself. There is a filter for Verified games so it's easy to use.

Had mine a month and have used it like six times, debating flogging it, 256 with the official dock, think I would get most of my money back ?
Thats a shame on mine just about every day at some point ( since I got it back ! )Been busy with work, tend to get in bed and have a go on it, but sit there nodding off, sometimes managing to bash myself on the forehead with it as I drift off

Think I need a good game, played a bit of BeamNG but it doesnt work 100 percent, then some bladerunner/minecraft thing and tried Euro Truck Sim which works but is fiddly, and a bit boring to be honest, for me, can see how some will love it.

Yeah I wouldn't put either of those down as good Steam Deck games really. This is a good starter list: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/best-steam-deck-g...I'd also add Art of Rally and Circuit Superstars to the list, both look very cartoony and basic but are wonderful to play with the controller and the handing models are specifically designed with analogue stick and buttons in mind.
As much as I love my Deck, this is why it still has a long way to go to be a friendly, out of the box alternative to a Switch...
My son started on Jedi Fallen Order yesterday, in the morning it ran perfectly (and looked incredible), then tried to boot it after lunch...dead.
This is the third game where that has happened.

To be fair, STEAM do mark that game as not verified, so caveat emptorMy son started on Jedi Fallen Order yesterday, in the morning it ran perfectly (and looked incredible), then tried to boot it after lunch...dead.

If you tried Euro Truck Simulator, you might like Snowrunner. It's an off road truck driving game, but instead of following the satnav up and down the motorway you have to explore the map to find the best route (sometimes the obvious route has a section that's almost impassable, so it's actually quicker to go the long way around). There are lots of tasks involving delivering cargo to repair broken bridges, picking up lost cargo with your crane, recovering abandoned vehicles from swamps, finding upgrades for your trucks, etc. Like Euro Truck Simulator it's very slow paced and mainly single player, but I've found it addictive and spent countless hours on it.Been busy with work, tend to get in bed and have a go on it, but sit there nodding off, sometimes managing to bash myself on the forehead with it as I drift off
My Steam Deck hasn't arrived yet, but on the Steam store Snowrunner is marked as Playable but not Verified.

Absolutely. But when he/I see it running perfectly in various YT videos it is hard to resist, and it does run perfectly when the launcher works, which was every day until an update borked it yesterday Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
