Tried the 1 hour spa race again however this time rain come in 2 laps later than previous times and didn't rain at all later in the race managed a 2 stop just with the Zonda r last few times I've tried it rained twice.
I did that earlier, used a supercharged viper gt3. First time i screwed the strategy and had lots of rain.
Second time it spotted slightly but didn't get wet.
I was 1:22 down with 15 minutes to go then the leaders pitted so I literally put in qualifying laps and overtook the leader into the final corner on the last lap.

I've done the Spa rain race twice now. Both times in my very de-tuned 787b. 1st time I nearly lapped the whole field (Despite a near 5 minute lap for happing to drive on slicks in the monsoon) and did lap the whole field 1.5 times in the second race. Its a nice wee earner when yer low on credits (as I was last week).

I’ve done the race a few times, and the 787B is definitely the best car for easy money. Fast, doesn’t use much fuel, and it’s easy on the tyres.

Funnily enough I was using the 787b on the Spa 800 race last night too. It started raining just before it got dark and it was really heavy. I was half way round on slicks and it was just aquaplaning everywhere, stuck it in 5th gear to even get it going.

The leader had a 30 second lead on me in 2nd and just as morning broke it stopped raining and began to dry. He pitted and I kept glancing to see what tyres he went for, soft slicks. Almost as soon as he left the pits it started throwing it down with rain so I got on full wets and caught him easily. By the time it dried up again I did 2 laps to the finish and he was 1 minute 30 down.

Little action shot.

When I did the race on Saturday I just kept the weather radar open. Makes it much easier/quicker to make the right decision.

I think on that Spa one the radar default is it's zoomed out to the max, right? Having not played Sport, I didn't realise you could zoom out until I did that race.... total game changer laugh

Some tracks are zoomed out and some zoomed a bit closer i noticed. It is brilliant if you have a wheel, the G923 has a dial you can just turn. I don't think there is a way to zoom out on controller is there?

The MFD is controlled by the D pad on a controller, left and right to change the display, and up and down to zoom in/out etc

Yes.
It’s also how you adjust the fuel map, brake balance, and traction control. (I need a bit of TC when I’m on slick tyres in the wet, or badly worn rears.)

Tilt the controller to steer. Left thumb for gear changes.
It’s the only way to drive. smile

I raced Spa a couple of times at the weekend and Iv done it once before. Every time, I have won by over a minute and the last race I lapped 5th. I like Spa 800pp as it is not predictable.

First race on Saturday didn't rain much at all but luckily I was about 8 seconds behind the leader when the rain started and caught up very quick. The 2nd race was a monsoon and the leader disappeared off the leader board as I guess he got caught out at the start of the monsoon and span a few times. (Driving a Viper if I recall)

Thing is I expect rain to come and maybe I am always extremely lucky but it seems to start raining when I come down the final speed section before the Pit lane chicane. As soon as I see my wipers move I don't risk another lap and I dive straight in and get inters. If it turns into a monsoon Ill pit again and get wets but every time the field seems to be a lap behind on pit stops and fall of the track.

I am enjoying the 1.5m credits and using GR3 cars that normally wouldn't be competitive in other 800pp races due to fuel burn etc.

Just done this is the F1500. Yes, it is dark at night. This is going into the corner with no name

Odd thing happened, Bishop came out of the pits just behind me in totally bone dry conditions in that part between rains. Then it started raining heavily for the second time, and he started catching me at a very quick rate, almost like he put inters on when it was totally dry. He could not have done it on slicks. When he caught me, he played Schumacher to my Coulthard (in the same spot that actually happened)

Which turned me around into the fence facing backwards.

Anyway, I caught him again on the last lap, so had my revenge at the end of Kemmel, ramming him into the run off area.

Won by 8 seconds in the end. Plus Clean Race bonus, obviously laugh

I love a bit of well timed revenge on the AI after they have gone all shunty. I did a race at Bathurst working my way up through the pack and someone in a Viper rammed me off over the grass into the barrier over the mountain section. Fast forward to the last lap and I am 3 seconds behind him in 2nd place going down Con Rod straight, so as he got to the left right section at the bottom I lined him up perfectly and t-boned him at about 130mph. Sent him to New Zealand and myself to the top step of the podium! The replay from inside his car was brutal.
