People play it differently.
If you like the cafe challenges, you might like the missions. Not the cones and drifting, but races where you have to work hard to get a podium, let alone a win.
I aim to win at least one race with every car in the game. That means a lot of time 'grinding' big money races. But I try to use as many different cars as possible in the same races. For example my last race was in a Suzuki Cappuccino with the engine from the RX7, competing against the GT4 cars at the Le Mans circuit.
Missions.....like the sound of that.....where do I find those, not sure I've come across them? If you like the cafe challenges, you might like the missions. Not the cones and drifting, but races where you have to work hard to get a podium, let alone a win.

I think it's on the top left of the world map. If you don't have it, it might be something you haven't unlocked yet.UTH said:
Gotcha, will seek that out, or keep going to unlock.
There are some good missions, it's a shame they only payout once. The 1 hour endurances are excellent as well, it feels like the AI are significantly faster in some of them, you'll definitely learn Lago Maggiore well In terms of how to play, it is sort of up to you, if you're enjoying the café menus then suggest say keep smashing through those as it'll get everything unlocked for you and are the bit of the game most people dislike the most, so keep at it whilst the motivation is there!
If it's a car I particularly like, I'll buy one to modify and one to keep stock, and possibly another to give livery options in custom races, that can get expensive!
If you're not too fussed about the tuning aspect at this stage, one suggestion I will make is to try the Street / Sports suspension options. In my experience these are typically a really nice 'sharpening' of the standard handling without changing its characteristics, whereas the fully customisable suspension tends to be far stiffer anti-roll bars, stupid -3* camber front and rear but leaves weirdly soft spring rates, combined with the slammed ride height I've found that can often suddenly make the car really spikey with snap oversteer.
The custom races can actually be really fun, although keep in mind if trying to balance the performance of the cars (they just use whatever setup is currently applied to the car) that they default to whatever tyre compound the car came with, unless you put them on Racing Hards I think. As always with PD they've taken an idea, implemented it 90% of the way to being brilliant, and then garnished it with a layer of batst annoying oversights that almost ruin it.
Which is frustrating when your magnificent looking 20 strong 70s Trans Am style grid all have Comfort Softs but for some inexplicable reason the 1969 Boss Mustang comes with Sports Hards and streaks off into the distance
Circuit Experiences are where it's at for earning money, if you can get all golds there are many, many millions to be had relatively quickly.

WTH have they done to the handling with this latest 'upgrade' ?! JHTFC, everything handles like st.
Just been doing the super licence tests, the Zonda at Interlagos had hideous understeer everywhere. Did Nurburg Sprint - 4wd Jap. R35 GTR locks up and spins like ABS is off. On race hards.
Currently trying some missions.
Alsace 1 hour - fun race, had several aborted attempts trying to find a decent car at 460pp. 73 Skyline, quickish but a bit loose at the rear. Tuned Mini with a big turbo, horrendous lag. Eventually settled on a detuned 73 Carrera 2.7 RS on Sports Softs. Managed to win by just over 1 minute.

Jeesus, anyone tried the 1 hour Lake Maggiore mission on latest patch level? Might now be impossible to win.
Agreed !Supposed to have been made more compliant in the latest update, but after 8 attempts at playing pinball with the immovable overly aggressive AI I gave up.
Not helped by the fact you have no option but to drive cars with less that ideal set up. Which I'm sure is purposely screwed to make life difficult !

I’ve been having issues with my frames since this most recent update with the screen flickering quite a bit. Anyone else experienced this?

(Note: Other players may have won in other cars)
Shudder...that bloody mission. Would not want to go back

Hardest mission for me, tried about ten cars. Eventually won it with a bit of luck, the fact I'd had by that point LOTS of practice, and being in the right car, which was the Hyundai Genesis!

From what I've read the latest patch(es) handling and BoP changes have made it even harder, completing it a while back is easy-mode in comparison. :O(Note: Other players may have won in other cars)

I would quite like some more missions though.
