Don't buy Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 like I just did only to then discover it's free on Epic Games.

Typical, all the games I want to buy have meagre savings at best - oh well, any saving is a bonus I suppose. I still find myself in awe of how good Steam is as a platform and how bad their competitors are in comparison. I know Epic give away free games, burning through lots of Chinese money in the process, but even that can't bring me to use their platform often, it's just so bad and clunky for users.

Also kind of annoying that the new Starship Troopers RTS, which looks supewr cool, doesn't have any sort of discount applied, but I suppose that's normal considering it only came out like a week ago.

I was looking for red dead 2 on the offer list. Not much of a discount considering how many years it's been out now.
Agree about other none steam platforms, I use gog for cyberpunk and it's ok now but was really poor when first installed.

7 Days to Die £18.99 down to £5.69.

For sub 6 quid it is a bargain, and yes it has been in Alpha forever - but for sub 6 quid you can easily get hundreds of hours of fun out it, if you like the genre.

Would recommend.

Yeah - I don't understand why companies put so little effort into their launcher system. The Steam one is pretty good and offers useful benefits like supporting streaming to a remote client (great for playing on a TV). Works really well on the big screen too.

In contrast, other launchers have pretty poor interfaces and don't offer 'big screen' modes or streaming. Even the Microsoft one for Xbox gamepass is pretty crap and bug-ridden.

If you want people to use your game store, make your launcher solid, easy to use and feature-filled.

Not bad, but it seemed to be over pretty quickly.

I preferred the original to be honest.

Not got round to playing Mankind Divided yet, but so far all the follow ups have been ok albeit somewhat lacking compared to the original. Perhaps because the original was so ground breaking I look back on it with rose-tinted spectacles, but I would be tempted to give it another go again (think I played it through 2 or 3 times when it came out). Whereas I don't feel the urge to for the others I've played (Invisible War & Human Revolution).

However, I reckon for £2.99 MD is worth a go smile

I installed Starship Troopers the second it became available as I'm a massive fan of the original film. It's not a bad game, but the campaign is very short, I'm not into mupliplayer so not tried that and there is no skirmish mode. There are 2 scenarios though. Just seems very little content for the price - hoping they'll add to it.

The game itself, feels very much like company of heroes style RTS rather than the traditional base build/resource gather style, not a bad thing as I like that style but it's a shame. There is a 'veterancy' system which is nice, but you lose troops A LOT (or at least I do) which disengages you somewhat - but does follow the ethos of the military lore of throwing troopers at a problem. Lots of promise, not sure on execution yet but I'm enjoying it.
