Since 2020.

It’s been an expensive but enjoyable journey thus far.
That looks awesome. I've taken my first step, PS5 and GT7 have been ordered!

Sent back today had not played it since last Thursday. Might be a purchase again at somepoint if there a significant price drop and a new game that gets me hooked back in.

I’m thinking of sending mine back. My motion sickness is better than it was, but still bad enough that I can see me just not using it enough to warrant the cost.

The sensible part of me says that I should send it back while I can.

Yea, I'm in exactly the same position.

Managed to get an hour or so on Pavlov late last night. Slowly getting used to the controls. Still got some motion "uncomfort" when moving quickly though, and still fumbling quite a few reloads.

Still hoping to set up my Playseat and steering wheel to get a go on GT7, but I suspect that whilst the experience will be incredible, that the core issues with GT7 will still stop me from playing it much.

It just feels too expensive to have lying around to use once in a while for me. I don't know how long it took for PSVR to drop in price to around 50% because I would pay £250 for this for an occasional gameplay. It is not worth more than the console itself right now personally because of my limited game time!

I think I'll be keeping my VR2. I only bought it for GT7 and it does make the game very realistic - with a seat and a wheel. I've got to the point (luckily for me) where I can drive as long as I like and don't feel any discomfort.
I'll have to download some demos and see what else I might consider buying.

I’ve got really into tentacular. I watched a bunch of YouTube on mine last night as well. Like being in a cinema on your own.

Yeah, viewing TV shows/movies in a VR headset is really good.

I've got a great app on the Quest2 for it and have watched a few blockbusters that way, very enjoyable. I also used to do it on my PSVR1 .. though the resolution on that wasn't great and for some reason I would slowly 'rotate' whenever in PSVR apps. It was slow enough that you wouldn't perceive it but over time you would essentially rotate away from your starting viewpoint as if you were sitting on a slow moving turntable, and have to reset to centre it again. Never got to the bottom of that but happened in most games.

Also, Youtube has quite a bit of 180 and 360 degree videos made for VR headsets which are very impressive.

It would be great if the PS VR2 supported 3D films, but for me I have a 4k LG OLED TV and the image quality is just so far superior that I can't see myself watching much TV or film in the headset.

I think this was a slight issue for me too (I have the same tv with the PS5 via HDMI2) and the quality is so good and the PSVR2 as good improvement as it was v the PSVR1 the visuals were just not comparable.

Same here. I sent it back yesterday with a view to buy again, if I feel the games catalogue warrants. I can’t justify the cost of VR2 just for GT7

I gave the PSVR1 a decent try when I first got it. It spent years collecting dust through lack of interest. .

In the 20 odd hours of NMS I have played I had done very little flying, over the weekend I transferred some gear from my PC account to my PS account and scrapped the dozen or so twitch drop ships i have (historically earn't ones were available after my PS account once it was linked)

space flight is just 100 times better in VR, there are so many different cockpits and they are fully 360 degree rendered, you can look out behind, out above (on ships with a glass roof) and even see the headrest on your seat

but best of all is the flight / fighting, VR takes it to a new level, you can actually skim across the surface of capital ships or space stations and zig zag between pylons etc

the downside is i have 5 other VR games and i still haven't even loaded them ...

Well that looks all kinds of awesome. If someone decided to make a Star Wars X-Wing fighter game in full VR for the PS5, I suspect I would have no choice but to get a kit !!

Oh, indeed! If Star Wars Squadrons had a VR2 port I would have kept mine.

I never played much multiplayer Squadrons but really enjoyed single player PSVR. I have 2D Squadrons on PC and am enjoying the upgraded graphics.

Use mine not that much as no time for games in the week , mostly it’s a few hours each weekend with the kids atm . GT7 would spend some hours in v easily when can find the time first impressions of that are v impressed

Got Pistol Whip this weekend and been having blast with that strangely no motion sickness there while Horizon has caused some , and it’s surprisingly active first time have had issue with the lenses fogging up

Still overall v impressed with it as a gadget , it’s a must own piece of tech not a must own gaming device imo right now

Sort of glad I’m having to wait till Christmas so I can gauge the general feeling amongst some of you.

Plus that plane game above, wow too bad that wasn’t a launch title

I think VR lends itself better to games where in the game the body is static too, so GT7 and flight sim stuff. When you have games where the movement of a character or such doesn’t represent the body movements you are doing that’s when the brain has a bit of a meltdown and the nausea kicks in.
