Had a good race, running 3rd for a while, but didn't practice enough to set my car up properly. I was about 3-4 seconds off the pace, but managed to avoid spinning and made a reasonably quick pitstop. Had some great close racing with Mr Yogi and Dave, just didn't have enough speed to stay ahead though!

Really enjoyed that one, fighting with people on every lap. Looking in my mirrors almost as much as i was looking at the track ahead. Was fantastic to be able to fight with other people for position for a change and the win was totally unexpected

Well done to everyone for making that such a brill race, looking forward to next week now. lol

I couldn't have been more gutted last night !!

It was a great race even after an interesting start technique from DMike ! Eventually got through to 1st in the '65 class and built up a shaky 5 second lead but then span at the end of the 14th lap. DMike went past as I was coming off the grass and then span again on the grass whilst trying to move off too quickly letting 2 more go past me - ARGHHHH!!!! Very good race from Clemento though, kept it steady whilst having GT40's sniffing his bum for probably the entire race - I bet he had a few sweaty-palmed moments on that last lap in the lead !!

Also great for me to actually have a race against people rather than lapping by myself as everyone is way ahead.

A pretty uneventful race for me. After a cautious start, down to 2nd after the first corner, time to pick up the pace to catch Dave M. Lap 2 I managed to close the gap and lap 3 I was pretty much welded to his bumper until Dave got a bit sideways cominng in to T4 after the chicane. Took my chance and that was the last bit of racing for the night. Managed to lap slowcoach on lap 13, then came in for my stop.

Well done Clemento, good consistent driving got you the win - fantastic stuff.

Bring on SPA !!!

Had a fantastic race, qualified well (but still nearly 1 second off my best lap and I generally do my best laps on Sunday nights ) and started 3rd.

Got a good start but as the first corner is such a bih I decided not to get too carried away and hold station, this dropped me back a bit but I just couldn't gain on Mark (Pantera).

Then on the 3rd lap I spun which dropped me into the clutches of Andy (Capri), who I had a great tussel with for a lap or three.

Next Dave (906) came from behind (oh err ), don't know weather he had spun or pitted but he was fast and I was kacking myself and spent too long looking in my rear view mirror instead of where I was going

I then pitted and as I came out right behind Andy again had a great tussel, both running a bit ragged but managed not to take one another off I then passed a spun Dave with three laps to go. I noticed that he was behind Andy and it took him about a lap to get passed. Two laps to go and Dave was catching me I was spending so much time looking in my rear view mirror.

On the final lap Dave was right behind me and I tried my best to stayahead without running either of us off the road - I did "close the door" on Dave a couple of times but he finally managed to wriggle through. Although I missed my breaking point into the slightly banked hair-pin at the far end of the circuit and narrowly missed collecting him (good job you didn't hang around after getting past ).

I did try and fight back but over cooked it at the 2nd of the left-right complexes after said hair-pin

And finished 3rd

Just like to say I hope my driving was ok, I did try and give you guys room but a couple of times I did think I maybe cut it a bit close But remember that was only my 2nd race at the sharpe end of the grid

Really looking forward to Spa

Very frustrating race... during practice throughout the week I was alternately 5 sec/lap up or down for the session. Unfortunately this was one of those 5 sec/lap down sessions Previous best was 2m19.5 but couldn't beat 2m15 during the race.

No power out of the corners and after a brief class lead (as far as the end of the start/finish straight on lap 1 when all the other GT40s took each other out) I could only watch as I was overtaken at will by anyone who cared to try.

Luckily the rest of the GT40s continued to fall off the track, giving me a totally undeserved 2nd in class - behind the stunning Clemento in his Lotus!

Mmmkay.
So I'll try a GT40, thought I. How hard can it be on an unfamiliar track (after having a bad pint, get the excuses in there, not my fault, very good driver actually, etc.)?
It was hard. So very hard.
Turn 1 must be my least favourite bend in the world. Off-camber, it veers right like a b*st*rd, slap-bang (crunch) in the middle of the heaviest braking. How many times did i find myself pottering about midrace in what must be the reserve overspill campsite? A lot.
I came last. At one point i seemed to be gaining on the next-slowest GT40, which was in fact being driven by a comparative driving god, but then a scary Pantera (Mark?) roared up behind and I made a bolt for the armco to let him past. My race highlight was a highly arousing glimpse of pert Elan backside on perhaps lap 3. I was too busy rubbing my hands together to actually steer in a straight line, and my headlong plummet down the order thus began with a spin - soon to be followed by a run wide that saw me nosing into a ditch and the car doing a crazy slow-mo flip...
Anyway I'd rather not talk about it, thanks. Perhaps I'll go have a lie down.
Thanks for the race Gentlemen

BTW, thanks v.much for the ace, comprehensive results package. Highly informative, my only gripe would be that I seem to have been accorded a rather girly shade of pink in the graphs. Do you have anything butch like -ooh- gunmetal grey or anything?
