Next week? loved the old BMW 2002s myself, never seemed to get to race them much though, were they not liked?
Can't remember these ones ? - Are you talking about the E320's ?

How does this look ?

Where there are multiple layouts - can someone decide what they want to do - 1st post back confirms the layout to be used.

Looks good to me. I like everyone having the same car, and the test race we did at Donington was a lot of fun.

For the layouts, should we just go for the longest variant again?

Ah yes, you did see the deliberate mistake - 10 points to that man clap

Which track then PV ? for the BMW's - they are already on the server and can upload a track quickly from work.

Ahvenisto is on the server too and is quite a tricky one - lots of elevation changes

Layouts for the real FBMW were as follows (For the tracks in your list that they actually used.)

Rockingham - BTCC layout
Brands - Indy or in 2005 they had meetings on both layouts.
Donington - National
Oulton Park - Island Grand Prix (Not the offical name but the name its known by in Rfactor)
Silverstone - National (shortest layout)
Mondello Park - Full Circuit

We could also have Thruxton and Croft from the reall series as well. I can find the link that I got Thruxton from but Croft might take some tracking down as I've lost the link for that one. I'd send it to everyone but its a big file.

I never got on very well with these cars before so with a difficult track as well I may be well at the back. I will try and join in though. I'm still in shock from out qualifying Fwd last weekend! Pity I then messed up both races, particuarly as I felt like I had the pace to take third.

Edit: I just spotted this on the Ahvenisto page;

  • This track is a FPS hitter, so adjustment to car amount and graphics may be necessary.
Not sure if everyones pc will be up to it?

Holst can you give it a try - I recall you having issues in the past with FPS hits.

I'll set the server up tomorrow for people to try it out anyway.

Just downloaded it and driven a couple of laps to see what the FPS is like for me, with just me on track it's between 40-50 fps which is quite low, I usually see nothing below 60 and on most tracks 80-120fps. I think it's all the trees so maybe turning down circuit detail might help.

Ps. the track is almost all 1st & 2nd gear corners and short straights and one long curved straight where I barely get into 4th.

Maybe best to do a different track then - suggestions ?

Ignore last suggestion, I have just re-found the best fantasy track made for rFactor, right up with Toban in quality.

GP-200 made by Mr track and mod genuis MadCowie. Long straight, all types of corners, swooping uphil and blind crests with a roller coaster back stretch smile

I'm not keen on fantasy tracks personally, they always seem to be a nightmare to learn!

Ahvisto is completely unplayable on my laptop, drops to under 10FPS in some sections.

But as im still on Holiday and im not racing its not a problem for me biggrin
Just dont use it for the league.

I wont be racing again untill January the 11th, and I wont arrive home until about 8pm and I will be pretty tired after a long journey.

Really good flowing track - should make for an interesting race. I'll get the server changed tomorrow.

Put in a little practice to check tyres, they last a long time, don't really heat up too much so need a few laps to get any heat into them.

Best lap of 1m23.1s - 9mb wmv (right click save as) - http://www.mercia.biz/rfactor/GP-200-E320i.wmv

Default setup, only changed the steering ratio to 20:1.
