Sorry chaps. Had the reply to post window up on screen for a while to read all the times off the paper I was using.

(Messed about with quite a few cars trying to set my fastest time with some completely inappropriate muscle car - not to be, unfortunately.)

I tried using the old shelby mustang but it was apparent in the first corner that it had no hope of getting near the Solstice. In fact I think that I might even be able to get a high 42 out of that little monster.

I think high 42 might be do-able in my golf as well with a little more tweaking. I don't think it will go any faster with its current setup, but i haven't adjusted much yet so there is still chance!

I thought that in my golf then one lap I cut out a downshift I was making for the tight corner and found half a second. Even though it felt slower I destroyed my ghost car. Might be worth a shot to find some time.

Found an all new setup....easily beat my previous time and on the scoreboard so im happy.

I think its fairer if everyone has to set thier lap on free run in arcade so the time can be varified by the xbox360 scoreboards.

If not I just set a 28.000 in tuning test drive mode

Thought i would have a pop at this too.Had a go in a few cars and got 44's and a 43 in the golf iirc, but
my best time so far is in a civic.No assists used and the time is up on the scoreboards.

Nice times for Pulsatingstar and CivPilot btw
They are all decent times though.I have no idea how i would ever hit 41's without spending hours on setups
etc though!

Having a go at this time trial, tweaking setups and using different cars etc has made me wonder how accurate this event would be in real life though with such a varierty of vehicles.They all seem to be too closely matched to me.Using various upgrades (or none if the cars are near the 400 D limit when purchased) i can almost always get a 44 second lap after only a few laps in almost anything.It doesn't matter if it's a huge Yank tank or a pug 206 and no amount of swapping upgrades changes that.They almost all do the same type of speed at the same point on the track.
Then again i suppose they had no choice, otherwise people would end up only using a handful of cars in the entire game!

I some times question wether a certain car can go faster than another of different spec....during this time trial ive used all sorts of set ups on cars ranging from front engined fwd to mid engined and awd etc. Mid engined proved best for me but i think its true cetainly of the lower classes that its more about driving the correct line and being smoth with the brakes and throttle. I think tho that once in the high regions of a s and u class tuning will make a noticiable difference but a combination of good set up and the perfect driving line will be needed to get fast laps. Also in R1 and in the other R classes to set ups make alot of difference.
