Yeah keen for on grid links. The Porpoise looks like its going to be useful, likewise the Orca's drone bonuses!

Been getting into PI as well. Mostly because I am broke. Quite satisfying if very click heavy.

Did some explorer hunting the other night. Someone must have forgotten to tell the explorers because none showed up.

Tempted to go sit on a null gate in an instalocking Thrasher. Just to see if I can catch anything.

Any thoughts on guns for that? 280s?

I did wonder WTF had happened! Images looked good on FB though biggrin

I'm in a bit of a lull as not really taken by the High-sec stuff. Seriously considering heading back to Gall FW for a bit to see if that rekindles some enthusiasm
Come on back mate! We had about 300 in system (PL and all!) along with VMG and Archtype to defend a fortisar. Although to be fair we blueballed that one.

Some good fights and lots of wars.

I pretty much missed all the Blood Raider stuff this week, (finally moved out to null, so much to learn, so little time!)

I'm wondering what's worth stockpiling ahead of the expansion on the 8th?

Will there be an uptick in demand for skillbooks or low level materials for Agent missions/Opportuniites?

Your too late, I saw the price spikes happen, but they have now settled. its gonna be meta4 stuff. Skillbooks are NPC seeded, not sure about missions.

You could make tech2 links, not sure tbh.

How long have you been playing? now your in 0.0 just rat/pi for iskies.

Thought I would just post this. The fight on the 2nd was bloody good.

30 odd caracals defending an Astrahause against our 15 nightmares plus logi.

We were blapping them faster than we could target them. They came out in two waves and did make a half hearted attempt to take out our logi, but failed rather badly.

They might even have made an attempt to win the isk war until they warped in a relatively blingy Balhgorn, but didnt bring any logi for it.

It died predicably fast.

And we managed to get the Astra kill too.

Manginger- Come back!

The latest patch is good, lots more players online, seen a few people online not seen in years. Over 50k concurrent users. For the M-O battle horde had a 100man alpha clone fleet.

Some negatives for the patch for me is the new character sheet thats bloody awful, skill sheet is terrible the information I want is in front of me. Ill get used to it, its a step forward but its a terribly designed and far too cluttered.

Started this as an alpha clone over the weekend, enjoying it so far.

Just getting into it, finished the tutorial and initial career agents. Now looking to spread out a bit further, might try the sisters of eve arc before I look to join a corp.

Depends on the corp you wanna join, if its one of the big 0.0 entities they are always war decced, so id wait until after your done with the arc.

No decided what type of corp I want to join yet. Going to do a bit researching first, though I guess it'll be best to start with one of the newbie ones.

Someone like Aideron Robotics may be interesting if you're interested in easy access PVP - they're on Gallente side Faction Warfare although clearly it'd be best for you to join the FW side of your race as an Alpha.

I'm just in the process of moving back to Black-Rise / Gall Faction Warfare myself, looking to re-ignite the Eve spark again

Is it possible to FW on an alpha? What race would be best?

Very much so, in fact I highly recommend it. I think the Gallente / Caldari warzone will pick up a bit and certainly it seems there's a sway of new Alpha clone pilots to Caldari giving them some impetus in the face of some Gallente upheaval (maybe I've chosen a bad time to switch back to Gallente FW!)

There's some great articles on the current state of that Warzone here: https://crossingzebras.com/alphas-bittervets-and-c...

Caldari Alpha ship summary and fitting ideas: https://crossingzebras.com/alpha-clone-fits-part-i...
Gallente Alpha ship summary and fitting ideas: https://crossingzebras.com/alpha-clone-fits-part-i...

Minmatar here: https://crossingzebras.com/alpha-clone-fits-part-i...
Amarr = don't bother. Seemingly not a great race for Alpha state. ALso I think the Minnie / Amarr warzone isn't in rude health currently

If you do look at Gallente (and they really do have the best looking of the effective ships!) then I'd look at Aideron Robotics as a very good active FW corp with a very friendly approach to new pilots. There's definitely similar on Caldari side as well but I've not enough experience of them to make a specific recommendation

Ammar isn't great with lasers but it is workable as an ewar or drone platforms, lasers just need some adjustment. To add some meat to this, for lasers to be workable you need scorch ammo, which is tech2 and alphas cant access that. I think amarr actually have the highest dps alpha frigate in the game but its just not useable.

I have to agree gallente and caldari are the best and I have an alpha of each in addition to my 3 paid accounts for mucking around on mainly for trying alpha fittings.

Had an email from Eve Online saying I have a free Alpha Clone waiting for me on my account.

What's that all about?

Haven't played this for years, despite starting this thread. hehe

Alpha = free to play, omega = subscribed

Eve's gone free to play but with a limit to 5m sp, tech1 frig, dessies, cruisers of your race only, some limit on tech2 modules (guns/drones mainly) you cant multibox. no other real limitations. No item or currency cap, no area's of the game blocked off except maybe by the sp limit ish sort of (industry for example is accessible but capped by your skills, cant do pi I think either), you can do everything but nothing really optimal.

Its like an permanent trial, its good as you can log in whenever you want have chat to your corp mates and not have to sub etc, knock around in a tech1 ships if you want.

Thanks.

Wow. I wonder how that has gone down with the established community?

May need to pop back on at some point to check on my two characters. I think I left them with quite a lot of money and kit. Need to get my PC reformatted first though.

I guess the Alpha thing is to try and get more people playing.

It's gone down well, lots of people recognising that today's newbro's are tomorrow's bittervets. So loads of people helping and others price gouging T1 stuff in Jita.
