Simply, no.

Here's how it works.

Sort out your tune (with the same PI as the standard car) in Hot Lap, Race etc...

Once it is applied, it will carry over to Time Trials as long as it is saved or was the last tune you had on the car.

No money spent.

This car is very hard with assists! Currently running with just TC turned on .. think i got a 1.42 something

Tough car this - I hate to say that I'm going to keep TC on - there is no way in hell that I can go faster with it off. Feel like I'm cheating.

The Time Trial section of the leader boards will not let you.

I've done a lap, but it was rubbish (1:45 something). Wouldn't using the 007 garage car in Hot Lap, tuned to how I want it, go to the same leaderboard times (R2 Silverstone GP)?? Sorry Asterix but I think I'll be doing some season play and painting this week. Me no likey.

Arent the 007 008 and 009 all the same car just a different livery?

The time trial 009 car and the 007 freebie car are 1 PI point different, I think its 827 and 828. I don't know how different the setup of each car is as standard.

I've just done 2 laps with the Aston, seems like a good challenge this week.

To recap - it's #009 Aston DBR9 @ Silverstone in Time Trial mode only

Standard PI of 827 only (any other PI and your lap times are void - too much hassle to verify times any other way on top of the work we do each week with the leaderboards

Challenge accessed by Going to LEADERBOARDS > TIME TRIAL > SILVERSTONE

#1 Top Leaderboard target time this week is an 01:38:891

Any tuning etc is discouraged in the interest of fairness (other than tyre px etc) but if a car is tuned and remains with a PI of 827 the time will be allowed.

I've just tried 4 laps, 2 without traction control and 2 with - 4 seconds difference for me between the two !!

The top times this week are fast as this is the first time trial officially used on FM.net website for a competition.

I can tune to save mylife so Ive done a time in the standard car, which I cant improve enough to beat the top times already so I might give up on it heh.

personally without going to the hassle of tuning in the hotlap and then going back to do the trial in a modded car is too much hassle for me. Managed after 11Laps last night to get a high 1:42 in with TC on. I did try it with it off with a modded car... ill have to try without as tbh i think i may be faster!

So far i'm sitting at 1.44 something. Did a few with TC off. Tricky! This is actually the 1st time i've switched the TC on since I got the game! Still though, it does make it lot a easier. I probably won't get a chance to do any more laps. Going on holiday tonight.
