It's like crack...only more addictive. I spent about 6 hours on it last night with no breaks, even forgot to eat.

think i should probably take a break for a few days.
I deliberately do NOT start games like these for that very reason.. frown

Now played around 3 hours on my first map. Resources are pretty damn scarce, there are no reliable seams of metal visible anywhere so I'm considering levelling a mountain or two biggrin

Spends 30 episodes building an entire system of building then decides to leave on a boat to search for a better life!

I've just set up a mutliplayer server. If you guys want, I could let you all join? - could be fun. persistant world, so your buildings are saved.

I'll give it some testing today, and then put the IP up here later if its stable smile

SHould be more fun with other people in the world, imho.

I just started a random new world (not getting very far at the moment) only to see that it is snowing all over the land! Maybe it is because it is running on a (currently) non Internet connected PC? Who knows...

Don't! It's bloody good fun! Took me a while to figure a few things out but I have a little cave now with a front door. Going to make a house when it turns light again.

Sorr for the delay chaps.

Bad news. Multiplayer is so basic atm, everyone ( and everything) is invincible, and there are no MOBs. so, it's just base building, without any danger.

(see here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1013...

anyway, if you want to play, it's 109.109.241.67 - but it feels a bit gimped compared to single player.

Episode 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2B3yTJIK84

This is really quite fun to do! I am getting a new PC next month which means I can improve the quality of my captures on both PC and PS3/360.

Jake I hate you. Ended up buying this in a drunken haze hehe

Put it on my old lap top and it doesn't work laugh Something to do with open gl I've read on the internet. Boo. I will have to put it on the desktop when/if I ever turn it on again. At least I've already bought it for the cheaper price so should be ok.

Not really a desire to play it at the moment, too many other games on the go... but the videos by Jake and the one you linked to are awesome. Watched them both all way through, and look forward to the other installments!

"Markus Persson tweets about where he is headed today on a business trip, indicating Valve may be expanding its already expressed interest in Minecraft by courting the developer of this sandbox adventure. He says simply: "Yes, it's Valve wink."

Expect to see Minecraft on Steam at some point, or maybe they're adopting him to help development.

It is a fun toy, but I think he is going to have to add "something" to make it worth the release price. Don't get me wrong, it is great mining for red ore, iron and diamond, but there just needs to be more. Maybe something like the peons in Dungeon Keeper. The landscape generation engine is probably worth a small fortune in the long run.
