Anyone know what's happened to Mike? Not been on since Saturday afternoon which is rare, he's usually on every spare minute he has. Not responding to emails either.
I've not been on a huge amount recently, between being ill and having to stay over at work.. Had a good sesh yesterday though, only to discover the huge underground auto wheat farm I'm building is sat in a chunk where slimes can spawn..... (Am AM making an assumption here tho - do slimes crush/destroy crops?)
Would be an absolute tt if I have to start over....

Like most other mobs, Slimes require two vertical non-opaque blocks (e.g., air, signs, torches) to spawn in, with an opaque block underneath. The space they spawn in must also be clear of solid obstructions and liquids. Big Slimes require a 3x3x3 space to spawn, small Slimes require a 3x3x2 space, and tiny Slimes require a 1x1x2 space (or 1x1x1 if the upper block is not opaque).[2] Slimes are equally likely to spawn at all sizes. Slimes are much more likely to spawn in a 3 high room.
Slimes spawn only 1/10th as often as other hostile mobs, so they can be hard to find. Slimes can spawn in any light level and lighting does not affect their spawn rate. However, lighting up the surrounding area does decrease the chances of non-slime mobs spawning and thus indirectly increases slime spawning rates.
Slimes have equal chances to spawn at any size.
Looks like it'll need to be moved if you don't want slimes spawning as they'll trample your crops with their jumping. Chances are the space you've dug out is not all in a slime spawn chunk so might not need much work to move it across a bit. I'll be on this aft and early evening at least so can give you a hand to move it.Slimes spawn only 1/10th as often as other hostile mobs, so they can be hard to find. Well you can either use mcslimes.appspot.com or Amidst shows them if you tick the layer option for it. And thanks for the contribution Mike, much appreciated kind sir. What's the addy of the slime chunk app? Think I'll try a totally different location..

Guys, any of you got any lapiz I can have/trade please? I need tons of it!
I do actually. Check the chests in my underwater dome there should be a few blocks of it. I can find the rest later. There is more in my jungle retreat if you know where that is, and I think i quit last night with about 25 blocks of it on me.Using mouse with laptop seems to be going ok,
Currently have a storage unit built on the top of a mountain, which im removing layer by layer.
Have a 200x200 floor span castle under construction as well. Floating way above my storage unit.
Slowly building it up but i need 40,000 cobblestone for the floor alone...
Will build my storage rooms in it and have a roof top farm and trees. Oh and the 4 line railway will run out of it as well.

hi all,
I'm returning to minecraft after quite a break. So now i've downloaded the 'released' version and have had a play with enchantment etc, whats next ? What's all the tekkit stuff you're talking about > I've dug around a wiki but it's a little confusing to saythe least.
Can someone point me in the right direction or could I join the PH server to have a play the idea of auto quarry's sounds great.
cheers

Whose server is this on? And what's your IGN as I don't recall seeing you before.

You need to speak to iseedp, he runs the tekkit server although all sorts of problems with griefing and lag from what I've read. My server is vanilla.I'm returning to minecraft after quite a break. Turned out I didn't need as much as I thought. Me and Mike had tons of it at the spawn base and also found another 1.5 stacks of blocks over at TD as well so I had enough with some spare. Nice texture block for building swimming pools with! Just need to go hunting for clay AGAIN as I'm short of bricks to finish the path. Hate getting clay, it requires far too much work for the small amount of brick blocks you get at the end of it, especially after all the cooking required.

Don't forget it is stupidly common in swamp biomes, and in shallow water, so it shouldn't be too hard to obtain!Just need to go hunting for clay AGAIN as I'm short of bricks to finish the path.
