That's easy to say Daz if it didn't completely fk your race up. However, I was in 3rd place and as a result of a big crash that wasn't my fault ended up last, at least ten seconds behind the pack. Without the contact, I'm sure I would have come out the other side of that corner in one piece and in 3rd. I'm not saying it's deliberate or having a go at Fartgalen about it, just pleasantly asking if this is classed as a 'racing incident' or if it's something that shouldn't have happened - given that precious Championship points (and places) are at stake biggrin

ETA - no worries at all Fartgalen, I was pretty fking pissed at the time, not least because I'd been dumped from the first race, and it's probably to everyone's benefit that my mic wasn't working :-). Onto the next championship, just hope everyone's a bit more careful.

Yeah I understand, that's really annoying. Perhaps restarts in situations like that should be considered. Then you get a load more problems.

Cheers PVA. I guess lag plays a big part and can cause a rub to become a bash etc.

Although where lag is causing issues, like contact from one point of view, drivers can't help it no matter how careful they are. I think what it means is that we all have to 'be cool' and not completely spanner out if we get hit - the other person might not even know it's happened.

Worth bearing in mind for the next championship.

For what it's worth, I love close racing too - it'd be a shame if that stopped.

Some of my funnest online racing has been close-quarters on full damage - certainly focuses the mind smiledriving

Probably the biggest reason for me including this is you really have to think and plan moves. It will certainly improve everyones race craft and if after 16 weeks of this it doesnt then I guess we have all hit our talent peaks!

If damage becomes an issue, due to numerous 1st lap incidents in champ 2 etc, then rather than lower the damage setting I will implement a rolling start like we did at Monza.

So a lap will be added to total distance - we follow line astern behind pole sitter and then the race starts at the end of lap 1 - again like F1 restarts after a safety car. But for now we will give it a go.

It's going to be epic, even if I don't race I fancy watching a replay or two!

If anyone wants a bit of a mid week challenge there's a wednesday night Touring car championship starting (with slightly less extreme settings!)
