One of the best uses for the frag rounds out of a shotgun is to clear out pesky transport helicopters or little birds.
The 870MCS is accurate enough to fire over a huge distance, and the frag round will (if accurately shot) turn engineerssucking each other off continually repairing in the aforementioned helicopter into their component parts!
It's even better when you get a pilot who thinks he's the st doing some low flying maneuvers - you can turn them into people paté with a frag round too.
Using frag rounds against infantry though is the mark of a noob. People with thousands of USAS kills are usually the ones who brag about how awesome they are, whilst keeping schtum about their 0.8% accuracy and 50% quit ratio!

FINALLY unlocked the L85 after a few hateful rounds of SDM. Now I can go around feeling British

I've said it before and I'll say it again- I just cannot get on with the G36c. To me it just doesn't drop people as quickly as either the SCAR or the AK-74su at close range, and both of those also seem noticably superior than the G36c on single-shot at range.
I don't like the SCAR TBH, ammo capacity is too small so I struggle to take out more than one person without reloading. I do prefer the AK to the M4 though.Symbolica said:

I hope you like it. I bloody love it. Really making the 3.4x sight work with it (I think its the 3.4. Is the one with the low magnification but lines like a sniper scope). I went 20-3 with it in a TDM last night. I'm also enjoying TDM much more now. It's swings and roundabouts on the spawn front really. You get some bad spawns and you get gift wrapped kills to make up for it.

Very true. I love a bit of TDM now and again but the spawning in BF3 TDM really irritates me- it still seems to spawn like a free for all. For me it takes away any of the 'team' aspect. Surely it couldn't be too hard to program it so you respawn alongside your team-mates?! This way both teams are largely kept together, making it easier to support each other, give covering fire, resupply/revive etc and knowing there is a good chance somebody has got your back. ...For a near-perfect implementation of this see COD 5 WaW!
Rather than spawn- get shot in the back. Spawn, turn around- get shot in the back. Spawn, run to cover- somebody spawns on top of you and shoots you in the back... This is my experience of it anyway!

I really only get this on Karg Island. That Map is one big TDM Cluster Funk.Allaloneatron said:

That's interesting you should say that as that's the exact map I had in mind. Sadly almost every TDM server I've joined has either already been on or transitioned to that level as soon as I've joined. That's accounted for all bar one of the roughly 15 TDM rounds I've played. The other 1 round was on Damavand Peak, and whilst not perfect was infinately better than Karg Island. I'll have to try some of the other maps more, no idea why Karg Island seems so popular though, I think I'd put my keyboard through my screen if I play many more rounds on that!

That along with seine crossing on conquest have to be the worst two in the game.I know its harder to sort spawns on a tight conquest maps but fuark this one is the worst by far, luckily I've learnt pretty much every single spawn point on this map and how to position yourself so you don't get fked by someone spawning whilst you're capping their objective

This really makes me laugh, given that you've got to put in about 100 hours to unluck the usas, then get a further 90 kills to get frags. That's quite a long time to still be a noob. Nob, maybe, but not noob.Personally I've no issues with it.

You don't really learn the game until you've played about 200+ hours imo
Still not sure where people are getting that the USAS+frag rounds is overpowered? I unlocked it and used it for a while but got fed up with
a) Shooting people at point blank range and them not dying, the damage on them is actually pretty crap.
b) Getting picked off by people from far away with assault rifles.
Sure it has it's uses in Metro but even then I prefer buckshot rounds due to the far superior damage. I really can't see it as being overpowered. It has it's strengths and weaknesses just like any other gun in the game IMO.

So why do I get wiped out instantly buy poeple with a USAS n frag. Its way OP for me. I havent unlocked it yet, but I have been killed by enough of them.
Because you are crap Only kidding, trust me when you equip one you'll realise that yes they are pretty good but in very limited situations. If you get caught out in the open or are more than 20ms away from your opponent, you will die...a lot. OK if all you want to do is play Metro or possibly Bazaar but pretty useless for any of the bigger maps, at least that's how I found them.

20M? Frag rounds are effective waayyyyyyy past 20m. 4 times that easily.Only kidding, trust me when you equip one you'll realise that yes they are pretty good but in very limited situations. probably more like 70 hours? to unlock the usas and a max of 90 minutes to unlock the frag rounds (if you can't get a kill a minute when trying - you suck)

Well, it's taken me about 100. Though I am new to the whole BF thing. And probably suck. You don't really learn the game until you've played about 200+ hours imo
Either way, two working weeks worth of play does not equal n00b in my book.
