Quite he opposite! I wish I could get my HDR attempts to have the 'feel' that yours do. What would be reaaaally nice would be a step by step from originals to that... please... pretty please... pleeeeeaaaaaase.Franks Shed by bobshepherdphotography, on Flickr

Why does that remind me of 1980s wallpaper?Really, really getting frustrated with my lack of eye for architectural shots. Spent most of the day out with the camera a few days back and came back with 3 shots that weren't utter st but that's about the best that could be said for them. Need to get my head round it better. Your CC would really help at this time!
looks a bit better on black
not sure even black saves this

What I do wonder though is if your expectations are too high too soon. You posted some cracking portraits a few days back and got some good feedback on them but instead of carrying those on you're shooting something completely different. At around the same time you were really complimentary about three or four PHers each of whom seldom post anything on here outside of their specialism.
IMVHO give yourself a break and reflect on what you want to shoot and how you want to shoot it. Then, and this is the really important bit, press the shutter button at exactly the right moment
There's a serious point there, though. For portraits the right moment is expression. For most other subjects it's light. Early morning and late evening are considered best for this so...

...are you sure you were in the right place at the right time?Don't think there's much wrong with the comps
And the view from my breakfast table.....

I just did a trace on an anonymous guestbook message I received, and after a LOT of digital investigation found out it was a PH that sent it (I won't embarrass the sender - You know who you are) ... it reads:
"perhaps it is time to give visitors a hint of what you do for a living. music and landscape photography as a rule don't sustain fast cars. vagueness of site owner's image brings a disturbing touch to this site"
In answer to the secret sender: I write music and take photos, and people pay me for my work. This pays for the fast cars and keeps them on the road.
Hope that helps.
Next time, just post in here and don't hide, we'll all help you understand.
As you were folks.

What an odd thing to write on a guest book!
Anyway, here's a picture of a friend having a cider break when we were out surfing a couple of weekends ago. Not much artistic content I'm afraid but it makes me chuckle. It was dodgy cloudy west country cider purchased direct from the farm and was in what appeared to be an old turps bottle. It did not improve my friend's surfing skills.

I won't let the wife see that, it's almost exactly what she said and I'd never hear the end of it. I think you're probably right, I do need to concentrate more in one area - ideally I'd love to do portrait & fashion work but struggle to find subjects willing and I feel a bit stifled by lack of equipment / space to play (but then I'm probably just missing some obvious approaches!) Then I get frustrated because I just want to spend all day taking pictures, then I see some of the cracking scenic shots on here... I'm also extremely impatient LOL.What I do wonder though is if your expectations are too high too soon.
