Why are there so few car photographs?
Discussion
Had a chance to get out and play with the new (to-me) D750 night before last. Only ended up shooting for 15 mins as it was pitch black and freezing, but quite happy with a couple of the photos. Could have fine tuned the lighting on the cars a bit better given more time I think.

Vtec stuff
Yummy I'm sure its very capable, just I'd keep it NA if it was me.
I've just added Niall on Flickr (not sure if that's you?) – some great photos on there. That Exige is something else!
I've also fallen in love with the Nikon 85mm 1.4 after seeing these photos!

That's the great thing about modifying cars I guess, each one is unique to their owner!I'm sure its very capable, just I'd keep it NA if it was me.

Yes that's my Flickr account, messaged you back on there. My 85mm isn't the Nikon tho, it's the Sigma (non-ART version) but it's a tremendous lens. I have the Sigma 35mm ART, that and the 85mm are almost all I use now.

Ah my bad, those Sigma lenses (especially the ART ones) look very nice indeed. I'm in the market for a new wide-ish prime and they're high up on my list. But after seeing the 85mm shots I'm torn between something wide or something fairly long.Yes that's my Flickr account, messaged you back on there. Thanks for the Flickr follow back! Can't see any messages :S
I've got/had a few Sigmas now, had the 18-35mm f/1.8 ART for APS-C on my old D5100 which was lovely, just a shame it wouldn't work on my D610 without switching to DX mode but the 35mm f/1.4 ART makes up for that. I've also got the 105mm f/2.8 macro which I almost only ever use as a general purpose prime, it's great for stuff like Brenizer method panoramas, as is the 85mm.
Sorry, when I said replied to your message I meant replied to your comment on one of my photos!

Yeh I was using the Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 on my old crop frame Nikon and it became my workhorse lens, doesn't work with the new full frame though. So I'm currently using a Nikon 24-85mm F2.8-4 as an equivalent but will be sourcing a 24-70mm F2.8 at some point.Sorry, when I said replied to your message I meant replied to your comment on one of my photos!
I've also got the Sigma 15mm F2.8 fisheye which is extreme but great for some of the sports stuff I like to shoot. Not owned an ART lens though and the more I see of them the more I want one! The closest I have as a fast prime is a 50mm F1.8 D but its showing it's age these days.

I've got the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 (not the G2) and it's pretty decent as a walkabout lens, I tend only to use primes now when doing a "proper" shoot though. I quite fancy the Sigma 15mm for landscape/night sky stuff. Anyway, we're getting a bit O/T here so here's some photos of a car I've also got the Sigma 15mm F2.8 fisheye which is extreme but great for some of the sports stuff I like to shoot.
