Done all the updates with my Mavic and wasn't asked to sign in again? Seems to be working fine although I am still having issues with the app crashing but I think it's more to do with my phone than the app itself.

My spark arrived today!!

Nervous first flights, but it seems pretty good!

Can't wait to get out somewhere with nice scenery.

Did you go for the more expensive option - or the cheaper one? Can't wait for you to post some footage!!

Anyone have recommended colour/profile settings for the Mavic Pro? I find the images straight out are way oversharpened.

I got the fly more package because I figured I'd want more batteries and controller.

I am a bit nervous flying so not letting it go too far. Shame I couldn't get out with it today but had other plans.

It's a pretty solid bit of kit, and sport mode is cool!!!

Got to be careful with dronie and helix. It wants to go miles!! Will take some getting used to how it makes those manoeuvres.

I think 1080p looks good on the computer but for people who want to make videos not being able to crop in and keep 1080p resolution will be a bummer.

I bought my Mavic Pro when I was on holiday in the US last month and it's still sitting in its box unused as I have been really busy with work. Now I'm not sure whether to keep it or sell it on PH classifieds or eBay (although that fills me with dread) and buy a R/C plane and relive my youth.

Why would you want a plane without a camera, rather than a drone with one? Just out of interest?

How much you looking for it?

https://youtu.be/dlRZvfCvp-Y Quick Footage With Spark

I'm going to have to adjust some settings... I don't have the finesse to pan the camera up and down, or rotate the drone smoothly!

Shooting towards the sun the camera was a bit overwhelmed as you would expect... is this where filters help?
(Not sure if they are available for spark?)

There seems to be a lot of bugs with spark. Dronie doesnt gain much height, and the helix spiral takes it miles away before it even completes half a revolutionm. Some people struggling with video transmission range, seems to be due to interference from bluetooth on phone. Connecting phone directly to controller via usb helps. i haven't had that problem, but then i think I've only flown about 50m away so far!

I have had an issue where when you use gesture mode to control the drone, and take a selfie it doesnt store the image on the SD card.
BUT if you have the app connected it seems to do it.... its a problem because the whole point is minimal set-up, palm launch, selfie and bring it back.
Hopefully they can fix that in firmware.

When I was young I was heavily into radio controlled planes and worked in a model shop; I was just looking to dabble in something, but now I am thinking of a large scale Cub with a go pro mounted on it smile

I'm just about to advertise it on PH; I'm looking for £900.

Thanks

Good evening Fella's...

After a couple years without a Drone (previously had a DJI F450 I built) I have decided to get either a Spark or Mavic Pro.

Are there any PH'ers that are dealers in said equipment?

Anybody have experience with both? Looking to do quite a bit of active track stuff with my wife who does a lot of running and sports on the likes of Instagram etc. Ultimately from what I can see the Spark is going to be ample to begin with, but I personally like the idea of the Mavic, so I can play more myself...

Thanks in advance.

Well I've just taken the plunge on a DJI Phantom 4 pro. Never flown one before but have kept an eye on the rules and regs and this thread for a number of months. I'll probably use it more for aerial stills than film though!

Easy to fly. Have fun.

Taken delivery of a Mavic Pro today, having built a DJI F450 in the past. This thing is so steady and easy to fly its ridiculous... had a gentle go around the garden testing out the camera its brilliant even out of the box....

Looking forward to getting it outside and stretching its legs - currently raining here and I cant do anything frown

I got a Mavic last week. I've been out trying to get to grips with all the functions.

I took a spherical image which can be seen here: https://flic.kr/p/W11taa

Flickr should show it as a photosphere.

Is it because it's not waterproof or just that they don't fly well in the rain? Never really considered that you couldn't fly a drone in poor weather.

Until very recently drones had a lot of exposed electronics. Drones like TBS Discovery, 550 etc. Connectors were not water proof etc.
Mavics have been tested in rain and will fly. Just once you get water internally its probably not going to end well.
If you get caught in a shower you should be ok but RTH and then dry it all off and go home! Would I plan to fly in the rain. No.
