Yeah Mike, kinda ! They asked me up for a week to shoot some images for them - The pay was minimal but I got a king size ensuite for a week and breakfast/dinner.

Was out taking photos last night instead of being asleep like I should've been.
One day when I grow up I'll have a faster lens for this kind of picture

Small world, I think we walked this very street every day last weekend heading back to our apartment. Hard work with a 2 year old!
Small indeed. If you'd looked up, we were staying in the hotel directly to the left when you took this (top floor):
Norway is lovely isn't it... as long as you can afford the booze!

We don't drink, thankfully! Did all our food shopping in REMA 1000 and cooked back at the apartment too, saved an absolute fortune. My wife is half-Norwegian so we're working our way round slowly, frustratingly her family sold their holiday home/log cabin up in the mountains before I had a chance to go there.
Bergen is definitely top of the list so far (particularly with a toddler), hoping to visit Tromso next summer.

You'd definitely have to savour them for that price.
We spent 5 weeks driving round Norway and Sweden a couple of years back.
Norway is probably the most photogenic place I've ever visited, but very expensive of course!
I remember going to a supermarket and getting a 4-pack of beer, thinking the price was quite reasonable by local standards for 4 cans.
Turns out the price was per can, about £4 IIRC.

Agreed. I can put up with the cost when they provide this stuff:We spent 5 weeks driving round Norway and Sweden a couple of years back.

A few photos from what appears to have become an annual visit to Mount St Helens for a hike in late May (which co-incidentally is much easier when you're currently living a few hours drive South of it, rather than travelling from Europe)

Very nice. Would still love to go back there - it was a stunning place, the people were very friendly and welcoming, and it was the holiday I discovered that I wanted to take properly good photos and my small digital compact couldn't quite hack it (and I'd brought nowhere near enough film for my ageing T70 35mm SLR).

Loved my trip there, not long after it reopened so was quite quiet, only had a little cheap film camera at the time :/ Angkor wat :O took some nice B&W there.Would still love to go back there - it was a stunning place, the people were very friendly and welcoming, and it was the holiday I discovered that I wanted to take properly good photos and my small digital compact couldn't quite hack it (and I'd brought nowhere near enough film for my ageing T70 35mm SLR).
