Have seen some pretty damn good photographs on this thread, but this one... Wow, absolutely outstanding, have been reading the comments on how you did this so thank you for taking the time to elaborate to the rest of us on how to create such a stunning/outstanding image, though have to say I accidentally clicked on the image to view the larger version, then spent goodness knows how long viewing your other pics on Flickr. Anyway, whilst browsing your pics I spotted another pic which deserves the award of outstandingly good and that is the one entitled 'First light of winter' is amazing....
This level of photography is kind of awe inspiring to say the very least.
I don't suppose you sell poster size versions of your images do you and are they available in John Lewis or any other department stores, because they really would make a fantastic gift for a birthday or Christmas present.
I think I'm going to show the wife these pics to justify just what superb photographs I 'could' take with the right camera and lens... If only it was that easy

Thanks! It all takes a little time and practice to get to this point, but really I am still far from where I want to be when I look at the real giants of the landscape world at the moment.I think I'm going to show the wife these pics to justify just what superb photographs I 'could' take with the right camera and lens... I wish I had some nice contracts with department stores then I could quit the dayjob and buy a better camera

I too am in awe. I saw a collection of the winners of the world astrophotography award or some such similar at the royal observatory in Greenwich earlier this year and your picture above certainly wouldn't have been out of place.So.
Go on. Who are these giant 'togs that you look up to Mr.D?
