Beautiful shot Rob. I've looked at it for ages and I can't quite put my finger on it, but something is niggling me. Is this a composite? I would have thought the water would have been like mist given the length of exposure for the stars.
Would have to check but shutter time for both is about the same, I was shooting 25-30 seconds with big stopper for the jetty, it was incredibly windy though so had a lot of texture on the lake even so.

You can have a gold star!

Rob in answer to your question on flickr, i love the shot, i would hang it on my wall as an aesthetic piece of art etc. However i would prefer it if it could be possible. If the shot was merged from two taken at the same location, it would be easier for me to accept and i would have no qualms about it at all. When a shot could not be reproduced by being at the right place, at the right time, with the right skill set etc i feel a little... misled. Not by your example, because you have said what it is, but i would assume many wouldn't!

Cheers! TBH that level of trickery isnt what I am about. I will plan shots, work for them, if conditions dont play ball I will make the most of them or go back and try again.

This stuff is just so easy to do its stupid, but far too common.

And the carpet by the looks of it.

The "Modern" TV looks a bit dodgy though. Was this really taken so recently?

wink

I can post the uncropped version if you like, with the Ipad on the arm of the chair!

Interesting - the mirror like reflections (implying no wind) but with movement in the clouds (implying wind) foxed me. Great shot anyway smile
