Don't have the luxury of a tripod frown plus I was visiting mates who were at uni there as was little worse for wear, looked straight at the time! biggrin

In real life without the lens distortion, it's straight - we're looking out across the disc of the galaxy, so we see a band of stars, like looking at a CD edge on.

Fair enough - would take just a jiffy to fix in photoshop or similar. Only other thought was maybe position the sky on the upper third rather than smack in the middle smile

As said the MW is a disk, we are near one edge, this is looking towards the core so you get the best view of it.

So that's about 10 mins Rob?

Do you shoot rows or columns - or is there no choice?

yeah about that, usually ~ 22min for a 360, longer if I use a 50mm (10 sec exposures there).

With my iPano I could shoot whatever order I want, this was with the novoflex vr so its far easier to shoot rows as the column adjustment is a pain.

So that's about 2.5 to 3 mins per row.or, presumably, abut 7.5 to 10 minutes between top and bottom row start and finish.

Does that difference matter much to the amount of effort required for alignment/movement and so on? Or dies the stitching software just deal with it anyway - at least to a satisfactory level of accuracy for your purpose?

Sorry for all of the questions but I could imagine that some patience might be required - especially for a 360.
