You've done it again. Where am I going to get mince pies and part at this time on a Sunday evening? For other viewers ..... the pale grey default PH background should be skipped and go for something nearer to "View on Black" . The Flickr link is better in that respect.
I do just wonder if a tiny tad more illumination of the pies would lift things nicely especially for viewers who are not able to easily get their screens to black or have anything like a bright light source in their view. I don't think it would harm the image under other viewing conditions.
So, no pies and no port around .... it'll just have to be coffee then ....

You are quite right, more work is needed. We were aware of the pie lighting issue but were running out of time. I think I can do something about it in PS.I do just wonder if a tiny tad more illumination of the pies would lift things nicely especially for viewers who are not able to easily get their screens to black or have anything like a bright light source in their view. That said, with low ambient light for viewing I think it is fine as it is. But I suspect few will be viewing under those conditions.

I like those, and again the foreground helps to make it. I haven't done firework photos for a while because I can't quite motivate myself to go somewhere with a decent foreground, so I get the nice coloured trails, but nothing else. Cheers. I didnt know how they were going to look as the bright light to right hand side was a couple of gazillion watt floodlights as last year people complained about it being "too dark" in the field.
Last year i ended up watching from further away so had most of lancaster in the shots.

The more I look at this the more I like the treatment.I'm not generally enthusiastic about styles based on significant colour grading but this I like a lot.
